Just My Luck, Stuck With The Alpha.
Chapter Seventeen:
~ Silver's POV ~
I was having a battle with myself. A battle I surely couldn't win. My wolf is howling for him, but my mind is telling me it's not gonna work out. I mean I'm Alpha, he's Alpha we'll rarely see each other. Ugh! Why him?! Why? I sighed trying to stifle my sobs and sniffles, looking outside didn't really help anything. I still felt the same way. I felt another presence in the room; I didn't have to think twice to know who it was.
"Zev." I said still looking out the window.
"Can I come in?" He asked. I wiped my eyes on my arm knowing I just smeared my make-up. But right now I didn't really care.
"Yeah, I guess." I said shrugging. "I don't care." I felt his hand on my shoulder.
"Never say you don't care..." He said and sat on the bed a couple inches away from where I was sitting. I still looked out the window making sure I wouldn't get distracted by his appearance. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-"
"It's fine. I wanted it to happen." I admitted, but as soon as I said that I regretted it.
"I did too." He said softly.
"It shouldn't have happened." I said bluntly. "You have Quinci."
"For once can you stop talking about her? She's not here!" I turned to him.
"Just because she's not here doesn't mean you're still not in a relationship with her, Zev." I said. "What we did would be considered cheating. Even if it was just a tiny little peck, it's still something."
"As many times as she's cheated on me... this is nothing." He muttered. "Something's been weird lately. It's like... I've not been myself."
"Hm." I said. "I wonder why." He glanced at me briefly.
"I think it's you." He said. "You're making me see who I really am." Wow, I was really expecting the 'you're my mate Silver' what happened Zev? I turned and looked out the window again. I got my hopes up again. 'Why don't you just tell him?' My wolf asked. He needs to see what I really mean to him. I smiled looking out the window. "She's talking to you?" he asked.
"She always talks to me." I said.
"He's annoying." Zev said. I laughed.
"Mine too."
"They can be at times." Zev said. I sighed.
"Zev." I started.
"Yeah?"
"We're friends right?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Would I ever be anything else to you?" I asked. The sound of footsteps cut our conversation short. Rowan and Melissa were up here smiling and giggling. "What's up Rowan?"
"It's time." He said.
"Alright, we'll be down in a minute." Zev said. I looked at him. I sighed again. He put both hands on each side of my face and caressed my cheeks with his thumb. "Your make-up smeared."
"It doesn't matter." I mumbled. He rubbed his thumb under my eyes.
"There." He said. "Let's go." He said. We left the room. My question still hanging in the air inside the room. I don't think I could come back here and play everything off as normal. As we neared the party people moved out the way allowing us to make an entrance. My dad and my mom were in the front holding a glass of something. I have no clue what it was.
