Just My Luck, Stuck With The Alpha.
Chapter Twenty-Three
When I was around him I felt safe. I felt as if I were able to do anything and be completely invincible. Zev turned to me his eyes white as snow. I knew at that moment... we were truly made for each other.
'Come on, I have to get you out of here.' Zev told me. I nodded and we took off running, where? I have no idea. Zev just told me to run.
While we were running I heard snarls and feral noises coming from behind us. I turned around and saw that we were being tailed by 6 other of those monster-like werewolves. I honestly don't like Lycanthrope forms. They scare the living shit out of me. Literally.
'Uh... Zev, we have visitors.' I told him. He growled.
'Get ahead of me. And keep running, don't look back.' He ordered in his Alpha tone, full of authority. I growled back at him.
'I know this is a time of crisis and all, but I really need for you to stop ordering me around like I'm a lost puppy. I can take these dudes!' I growled angry that he was treating me like a child. Zev stopped and leveled his eyes on mine.
'What part of 'if you die I die' didn't you get? I'm trying to keep you alive! They want you! Not me! So just follow my damn instructions and stay alive!' He yelled. I flinched at every word. I looked at him feeling the tears well up. I couldn't do it. 'Silver...' I shook my head.
'No.' I said and took a step away from him. Still shaking my head I ran away from him. I ignored all his calls, his howls, his begs, everything. I didn't want him to put everything on my shoulders, make it seem like it's all my fault. I kept running, not knowing where I was headed at all. I ran into a cave and just stayed there. I ran to the end of the cave and just stayed there. Looking around... I realized where I was.
The cave that Vladdy told me about. I curled up within myself and stayed silent... hiding.
'Silver...' I heard him call. As much as I wanted to ignore him I just couldn't.
'Why do you have to blame everything on me?' I asked. 'You make it seem as if I really wanted to become this Alpha Female werewolf thing.'
'I know you don't. I know you didn't... but look where you're at now.'
'I just need you to believe in me. I want you to stop making me so useless.' I told him. He sighed an apology. I rolled my eyes.
'You're not useless... you're really not. But as I've said before. Once they get you they're gonna back off. They want you, and they'll do anything to get you.' I sighed. I heard heavy breathing from the opening of the Cave. My eyes widened and my heart began to beat erratically in fear.
'Someone's here.' I whispered and backed further away from the entrance. Zev's growl filled my mind. Four abnormally large forms came into my view, they all blocked the entrance of the cave. '...Zev... I think they've come for me.'
'WHAT?! NO! WHERE ARE YOU?!' He demanded. The men that were Lycanthrope's shifted from their wolf form to their human form. All four of them stood there and stared at me.
'You're not gonna make it in time, Zev. They're here.' I said softly.
'Silver, tell me where you are... please.' He begged.
'In the cave.'
"Why hello there Alpha Female." The man in the front said. "I believe you're coming with me." The man in the front snapped his fingers and they approached me. The pinned me down though I fought them off, they still seemed stronger somehow. "Feeling weak?" He asked. "Yeah, I do believe Quinci did bite you right? If she did... then just so you know she injected you with a poison which causes paralysis for a couple hours. Doesn't start instantly. But now it's running through you. But of course, you can fight it. And I don't want you to. So we're gonna tranquilize you, darling." The man said. He pulled a syringe out and stuck it in my neck. I began to feel fuzzy... and see blurs... then I was out.
~ Zev's POV ~
I saw them fall back. And that's how I knew they had her. But I had to be certain. I had to be proven wrong. Silver wouldn't let them take her, she just wouldn't. I ran to the cave where she said she'd be. Deserted. With her scent all over. I felt my heart sink down to my toes. My jaw clenched in anger and I felt fury course throughout me. I should have kept her with me at all times... I never should have let her out my sight. I flopped down and just looked around.
'If you can hear me Silver... I'm coming.' I promised. I would never let some stranger take my mate and get away with it. I'll find her, I'll get her back. Just give me a few days. Just a few days... and she'll be in my arms again... guaranteed.
~After the battle~
The guys ran up to me with confused and panicked expressions. "Dude where is Silver?" I heard Cade ask. I turned away from them and looked in the opposite direction unable to speak of what happened. Although it was just an assumption, it was still accurate.
"Dude, where is she?!" The others chimed in. I shook my head.
"Fuck, Zev, speak!" Vex yelled, anger obvious in his tone. I turned and looked at him, my eyes telling the story of what could have possibly happened. He shook his head.
"Yes." I said under my breath. His face contorted into disgust.
"Oh, God..." He said clutching his stomach. "You do realize what they're going to do to her right?" I looked away again my hands clutching a piece of destroyed shirt. "Damn it, Zev! She's your mate! You're not even doing anything about it! You're just sitting here staring off into space like you just lost your fucking dog! I knew she was too good for you. And now when she's actually gone, cause of our stupid fucking enemy, you don't do anything about it! They could be doing God knows what to her and you don't even care!" Vex yelled at me, trembling in anger. I met his eyes and let a growl escape me.
"Don't you ever. Say I don't care." I warned. "I can't do anything about it now. I have to wait." Rowan rushed to me and grabbed my shirt.
"Where's my sister." He demanded. I pried his hands off of me.
"They took her." I managed to say. He took a step back, completely shocked.
"And you let her?" He whispered. "You let them take my sister?!"
"You don't know the story, Rowan. Don't go off accusing me of letting them take my mate. You know what they did to me. Why would I let them take my mate. The one person I can actually say I love?" I asked hurt that they actually thought that I let them take Silver. That's pure bullshit. I could feel the glares of everyone on me. Only on me. I shut my eyes and inhaled.
Where is she? 'She's awake.' My wolf announced.
"Rowan, stay here and watch both packs. Vex, Sinn, Cade, Slade, Trix, Elliot, Travis, Brent, and Jaxon. Grab anything useful you think you'll need." I said.
"Why?" Travis asked.
"Because she's conscious." I said. They looked at me like I was crazy.
We had everything ready and was on the road. I stopped and inhaled looking for her scent. I can tell they tried to hide it, but I knew... I knew her smell from anywhere. I looked straight ahead and howled. Knowing she'd be able to hear me.
