15.HARD TIME

The alarm broke his sleep, he was about to go back to sleep after the alarm had been put off by her, she was so perfectly been snuggled beside him, him being a big spoon and her being a small spoon, but she is getting up broking his sleep in that process
"Sleep some more chipkali. The sun is not even out yet," he said while grabbing her back beside her
" Good thing I am not the sun, let me leave, I have a ton of things to do " with the wiggled out of his hold

The second time his sleep was disturbed by the sound, he opened one eye to locate the source of the sound, it was her using a hair dryer,  standing in front of the mirror,  which is hung In far most corner of the room
" Can't you use that in the bathroom," he asked while pushing himself into a sitting position
" plug stopped working in the middle,  had to come here, you can go back to sleep, I am almost done with it," she said without looking at him, as her back is in front of his
"It's fine, I have to get up early today, going to visit home," he said in a sheepish voice
"Is everything alright there?" she asked him, now turning away
"I suppose I am going there to get some fresh clothes,  as I have nothing clean to wear," he replied, looking at her
"Ohh, I see, and whose fault is this? " She asked him while she moved towards him
" Some chipkali, who has this nasty habit of hogging my clothes,  and that too without asking," he asked, looking at her
She closed the distance between them and bent down near the bed so her eyes could come to level with him
" When does a friend have to ask each other? They just take each other clothes" she said, smiling at him
Their face was close to each other
" By this logic, I should wear your clothes to work," he said sarcastically
" No one is stopping you. If you want, I can put out some clothes for you," she said. Now, he is coming so close to his face
" I think pink would look good on you," she said. Now lips so close to his
" I think I would prefer these pink lips," he said. Now, all eyes on her lips
She pulled away from his face, not before running her hands through his hair
" You gotta brush your teeth first," she replied, now laughing at his frustrated face
"You weren't complaining yesterday," he said while getting up
" I was sleepy at that time," she exits the room with an eye-roll
He smiled to himself, thinking that wasn't just some dream, she actually invited me to sleep here along with an apology and now referring to me as her friend, today gonna be a good day, let's manifest that, with that thought, he went to the bathroom
He came to the hall after a good 20 minutes,  where he found her on the couch studying. He came near her and sat beside hers
" Well, isn't it too early for you to grab a book?" he said while taking out his phone from his pocket
" thank God you are here, now be a good friend and make me a good coffee, before I leave for the hospital," she said to him without looking up from her books
" hello chipkali,  I am not your servant,  make me a good coffee," he said in a mocking voice
" I know you are not my servant but aren't you wanted to be my friend," she asked with a questioning look
"So? " He asked while raising a single eyebrow
" so be a doll and make me a coffee," she said with a smile
" fine, but next time use please to make others do your work," he said while getting up
" Can you not add any sugar in it, please " she speaks a little loud as he is in the kitchen now

He is in the kitchen making coffee for her and at the same time making tea for himself, he has a smile on his face, he doesn't know why he is smiling like an idiot,  but couldn't help it
After preparing her coffee, he came to the hall with her mug in one hand and tea for himself in the other, he put both on the table and went to the room, came back with a lighted cigarette In his hand, he took a swig before sitting down and passing it toward hers
"I am fine, it's too early for me," she said Now taking a sip from her coffee mug
" not bad chamgadar,  where did you learn it from? " She asked looking at her
"My mother " he replied taking a sip from his tea
" what are you having?  " She asked ( clearly trying her best to keep a conversation going)
" a good old tea, a blessing to a human soul " he replied while taking a sound sip from his cup
" a blessing to a human soul, you speak without thinking na " aarohi speaks while taking a sip from her mug
" I speak the truth," he said dramatically
" and whatever I am having is better than your almond milk, without sugar coffee," he said in a mocking voice
" taste wise maybe your tea can be good but health-wise, mine is divine" she replied while taking another big gulp
" what to do with health if you can't enjoy eating and drinking whatever you please," he said Taking a puff from his cigarette
"Well, I have so many facts to prove you wrong right here right now, but I have to leave now," She said while taking a sip from his mug back to back, with him looking at her
" take it easy chipkali, the hospital is not going anywhere,  no one is gonna hang you getting late just by 5 minutes " he replied looking at her
" I have to go to different departments today since no surgery is scheduled since dr Abhimanyu is not present and emergency surgery is going to be held by other seniors, which means no work for an intern" she speak while wearing her watch
" And intern with no work is every hospital's biggest nightmare," she said Now getting up from the couch and collecting her bag
"I need these keys, the timing of the new department is flexible, I am gonna leave early than other days," she said while looking at him
" I am gonna give you at lunch then," he said while navigating the still waters
" fine, lunch hours could also be flexible here, I can swing by your cabin when I can" said while thinking something
She was almost out of the gate but turn back to speak
" Can you order a spinach kale juice for me at lunch, I am gonna have that  now," She said casually
Neil is so stunned to speak, just looking at her with open a mouth
" I almost forgot to add,  please," she said with a smile and moved out of his sights
