Aarohi Goenka woke up in a haze, albeit a not unpleasant one. She was still a bit disoriented, but it didn’t take her as long to figure out how she ended up here the previous night. Even though she was naked and covered by only a thin sheet, she felt very, very warm - like she was sleeping with a space heater. Aarohi looked over at the clock on the nightstand and saw it was just past 8 AM. She was comfortable until an errant gurgle from her stomach alerted her to the fact that she had so little for dinner the previous night. When aarohi tried to get up, however, she was stopped by the arm on her stomach.“Stop, early, sleep,” Neil muttered sleepily beside her as he hugged her tighter to his body. Aarohi turned around in his arms to face him.
“Neil, we have to get up,” she whispered.
Eyes still closed, Neil scrunched up his face and shook his head “ ‘s early. Sleep, rooh.”
“It’s 8 AM,” aarohi laughed.
“AM means it’s still sleeping time,” Neil explained sleepily.
“I thought working in the hospital meant having to get up at the crack of dawn?” aarohi queried.
Neil cracked one bleary eye, giving aarohi a weary gaze. “It does. During the working days not now, stop trying to drag me from my bed, woman.”
“Well too bad, I’m hungry,” aarohi pouted. She eased his arm off her body and sat up, holding the sheet up to cover her body.
“I guess if we have to get up for any reason, food is a good one,” Neil sighed as he got up, he is happy knowing she is the one who asked for food, and that too genuinely. He placed a lingering kiss on Aarohi’s shoulder.
They got partially dressed, putting on only the bare minimum. Aarohi didn’t bother putting on her bra, opting to just go in her panties and his t-shirt, whereas Neil put on a t-shirt and his boxers. Aarohi considered putting her hair in a ponytail but changed her mind when she locked gazes with Neil. The previous night, Neil slipped in his sleepy haze that he liked her hair in a ponytail. It gives clear access to her neck, so defying Neil is aarohi's favorite job in the world
They stumbled over to the kitchen, arms tangled up around each other and laughing the entire time. Their laughter ended when they realized Neil hadn't prepared breakfast for them. It's his job now to be put in charge of the food they will have.
“What happened to breakfast?” asked aarohi teasingly.
"I guess you have to wait for a little, I can make something quick to eat, while you can have some fruits," said Neil in a serious tone, failing to notice the expression on her face, which is cheeky and teasing.
"You know you don't have to cook," said aarohi, moving towards him
"Weren't you hungry a few mins back, if you want to eat I have to cook, simple?" said Neil, going towards the fridge to gather stuff for the next step.
"I didn't say I am not hungry, just said you don't have to cook," said aarohi, blocking his way toward the fridge
"So you want to cook," asked a confused Neil
"No one is cooking, you half-brain chamgadar," said aarohi, turning around to open the fridge, leaving confused Neil to be more confused at that.
"We gonna have this huge fruit cake for breakfast," said aarohi while taking out the cake from the refrigerator
"Cake in breakfast, are you sure it is healthy? " asked Neil in a concerted way
"We Goenka's can eat anything at any time, Don't know about Birla's appetite, you want one?" Asked aarohi carefully putting a cake slice on a plate with strawberries on top of it
"Don't you challenge a Birla appetite, get one for yourself "said Neil after taking the plate aarohi serve cake for herself, leaving a scoffing aarohi, he chuckle at her reaction
