18. NO BULLSHITING

It's been some minutes since she woke up, and she does not have any clue, how she ended up here, in a hospital,  that doesn't look like the Birla hospital,  a nurse was there when she woke, and she informed her that, she will take some vitals, before  calling the doctor to talk with her, now after gaining full concentration,  aarohi saw Neil,  he was sitting on a comfortable chair, his eyes are on her, boring a hole probably,  she can't focus yet, the nurse informed her that her vitals are stable, the doctor will visit her soon after his rounds, she left the room, left her alone with Neil
She tried to get up in a sitting position, so she can have better look at him, it's seems like it's been a very long since she saw him properly, not just in some sedated dream of her
She tried to get up, but her body immediately gave her sign, it was not fully ready yet, but she need to see his face, it feels like if she didn't see him right now, she will forget what his face look like anymore
But a hand come to her rescue,  it was Neil,  who taped on her shoulder and gestured with their eyes to stay there
He drag his chair near her, he sit close to her and she can see his face, the face clearly shows how tired he must be, and his hairs look a mess, aarohi said this, but whenever he comes close to her, aarohi want to run her hands in his hair,  it some appealing aarohi has to his hair
Breaking her chain of  stupid thoughts aarohi speak looking at him
" you look shit," she said to break the silence
"I feel like shit," said Neil with heaviness in his voice
"You smell like shit too," said aarohi,  as his face came near now
Neil put his head near her face, body sitting on a chair and face resting near her face, she can smell him, he smell like sweat and cigarette,  how many times aarohi want to avoid this very combination of odors,  both together could be intoxicating,  but right now, She feels like, she found her breath in this, while closing her eyes, aarohi took a long breath
"What exactly happened? " asked aarohi, her eyes still shut
"What's the last thing you remember," asked Neil as also closed his eyes, finally he letting all the tiredness wash over him
" I Remember,  it was hard to breathe and cold, I was reaching for you, but my body stopped working there, I thought this was it, " said aarohi with closed eyes
"When your alarm rang, you didn't get up, so I checked on you, you were unconscious and barely breathing," Neil said Now regained his sitting position back, but still close to her face
" and you took me to this hospital," asked aarohi still with eyes closed
Aarohi doesn't want to look into his eyes, his eyes asking a million questions right now, which she is unable to answer, so she chooses to keep her eyes closed
"Before that, I called bro, and ask him, what should I do ?" Replied Neil,  watching her face, which is calm
"Dr. Abhimanyu,  I am not surprised there," said aarohi now opening her eyes
" bhaiya told me to get you to the hospital" replied Neil
" he does, I thought he will say to leave me there, you stay as far away from me as possible," said aarohi now looking at his face
" bro doesn't know it was you he was helping,  I told him you were a friend,  didn't tell him your name, he did help you, you know" replied Neil
" I want to sit up now, my back hurts," said aarohi to Neil
She want to keep looking at him, but she only can focus on him right now, as her whole body Is aching, she doesn't want to bother him, but the pain is unbearable,  so she finally said that she wants his help
Neil helped him into a sitting position and puts some pillows behind her back
"Where were you, Dr. Abhimanyu helped me, without knowing who I am, and what I was doing with you," asked aarohi now, looking at him, focusing on him, this is helping her in managing her pain right now
" Not exactly,  bro knows what you were doing with me, it's a hospital belonging to my brother's friend,  they put you here, without question asked and without id " replied Neil,  while taking her hand in his hands ( totally unaware,  why he did that)
Aarohi's body finally reacted, other than pain, his touch is soothing some pain, how did this happen no idea, why she is thinking like this, is this anesthesia making her think now

"So I am not Birla hospital,  I thought I wasn't,  but you confirmed it," said aarohi
"You wanted to go Birla hospital,  in this condition," asked Neil with raised eyebrows
" will they refuse to treat me," said aarohi with a giggle,  she doesn't know why she giggled, she never does that
" aarohi how can laugh right now, it was a case of overdose,  you wanted to get treated in Birla hospital,  where they take your license first and then treat you later " Neil raised his voice a little
" overdose, I don't understand," said aarohi with a questioning look
She couldn't believe what he just said, overdose,  she didn't do anything of that sort, she focused hard but couldn't conjure what did happen to her
"Yes, aarohi, overdose, all the pills you have taken, reacted with the alcohol you had in your system," said Neil still holding her hand
"Ohh, I see," said aarohi
She finally understand what had happened to her, and why, it was such a rookie mistake, her mistake,  she should have waited for a little before taking her medicines, she took her hand from his hand to do something with it, anything to calm the Strom of emotions she is feeling right now, She doesn't want Neil to see her like that, he already seen enough,  things he should not have seen, part of her life he should have look that, it's dark and sad, even for the happy soul like him.
" did you take them purposely ?" Asked Neil,  a little disturbed by taking her hand away from his
" Trust me, if I did it purposely,  I wouldn't be  talking to me right now, it was just a mistake," aarohi said with a little eye roll
"Trust you,  I can't trust you, not after this, told me you were taking those pills in a controlled manner now,  this is your control ? " asked Neil,  a little louder, but still not showing what he is feeling that time
" I forgot about those beers, I genuinely  did not want to end up here," she said Now taking his hand between hers
She can see, he is angry and probably hurt, she doesn't care very much about what other feelings could be about, but one look at Neil made her feel what he was feeling right now, and at that moment he get to know about the situation,  she wants to calm him down, she doesn't know how to do that, all the time they spend so far with other, she knows one thing,  do one thing to distract his mind, or just calm him down, she surely can't have sex with him right now, so she took his hand because that's the thing people do right?
"Aarohi, do you have any idea, what could have happened,  you could have died there," he said softly
He wanted to shout at her, wanted to make her feel the intensity of this situation,  wanted her to understand how she made him feel, but he looked at her, when she took his hand, she looked scared, he didn't see this expression on her for the time they spend together,  his anger melts away, is his voice scaring her?
" I am so sorry,  I didn't mean to, I didn't mean to put you into trouble,  or I didn't mean to die, not like this," said aarohi, with tears in her eyes, so ready to spill
She thought about dying,  so many times recently,  but not like this, not before saying her goodbyes, not before saying goodbye to her bade papa and badi mumma his AG.  Not before meeting her Kairav bhaiya and even akshara deserves a goodbye, she can understand what Neil must be going through,  she doesn't want to die, by putting him in guilt, he is too good for that, she knows for a fact, she isn't meant to have a full life, but she doesn't want to be trouble her only friend,  who took interest in her well being
" I know you didn't do this on purpose now, but you do a lot of things on purpose,  it's high time you understand that," said Neil while squeezing her hand
"You know, I thought a lot n about ending up in a situation like this, and always thought,  bade papa and badi mumma, AG, with Kairav bhaiya and vansh bhaiya even  Akshara, would be there with me," she said in hope of changing the subject
Neil would be lying if said it doesn't hurt him a little,  she doesn't want him here, but the thought of her being in situation is something she thinks about a lot, this isn't normal, she is getting complex day to be a day, his brain couldn't even try where to begin,  what to say to her. She is not normal, and he can never able to understand her
" on that, I didn't inform your family yet," said Neil genuinely trying to comprehend
" I can see that, otherwise,  you wouldn't be here right now," aarohi said with a sniffle
" Should I call them now, they deserve to know," said Neil looking at her
The thought of them seeing her like this is enough for her to open the way for tears, tears are now making their way, aarohi knows very well that her family deserves to know, but she don't want to imagine the look on his bade papa face, he could either be devastated by her condition or by her  action, either way, she isn't ready to face them
" please Neil,  don't call them, don't,  don't inform them, please do this favor on me," she said pleading with both of her( one hand has a cannula in it, so it was painful for her )
And in between sobbing
Neil saw her crying before, many times, in front of bhabhi or her family,  but she never cried in front of him, it was very raw and genuine,  but those tears and her words made his heartache,  he didn't intend to make her cry, not like this, all this time, he was angry with her, but as she was crying Neil anger isn't anywhere to be found,  he quickly gets up from the chair and tried his best to give her in that position,  turned out like her head on his stomach and his hands keeping it there, she is now sobbing
"I won't call them, if that you want," he said while patting her other shoulder with a spare hand of his as one is in her hair hugging her weirdly there

She cried for what like some minutes,  she wants to stop those tears, she doesn't want to look weak, especially never in front of Neil,  but the way he is hugging her right now, She couldn't help but think, there is no better person right now to cry in front of, she was really glad it was Neil,  who found her like that or comforting her right now

After her tears dried out,  she straight  up her self, getting out of that hug, she saw his t-shirt drenched with her tears, he  take back a step and set his chair beside her again
In an attempt to break the silence she speaks
" sorry about your shirt, and sorry about all this, you don't sign up for this," said aarohi genuinely feeling guilty
" It's okay, and I did sign up for all of this when I offered myself to you as a friend " replied Neil looking into her eyes
"Friendship  with me taking a toll on you, I see," aarohi said softly looking at Neil's tired figure
"It's nothing I can't handle,  by this time now I hope you understand,  how sincere I was when I said, you can count on me," said Neil meaning every word
"I do," said aarohi now playing with the edge of the blanket
The silence between them is comforting, like always,  but there is a new sense of belonging between them, with each other, that's new between them, not knowing what changed but, they are not the same as they were 2 weeks before, that's for sure
"Neil, I am glad it's you, with me here," aarohi said putting her hand in his, genuinely wanting to let him know that, his efforts are seen by her
"Aarohi, I am going  to take you with me, instead of sending you to Goenka's house," said Neil
"But you have to listen to me this time, what doctor going to say or what is right for you, I am going to do that, and so will you," Neil said directly looking into her eyes, to let her know he is very serious
"I will" replied aarohi, and low voice, only heard by him
" No bullshiting  this time " Neil forwarded his hand toward her
"No bullshiting " replied aarohi with a smile and put her hand on his
With their joint hands in front of her, aarohi genuinely thought about his words, she is going to do what he says this time, she owes him that, she owes him the breath she was taking right now, no bullshiting, repeated aarohi in her mind
