21.FOCUS

Neil has is grateful to have his  mother in his life, she already prepared so much all ready for him, she even offered to send food every day for him and his sick friend, but Neil refused that, he might take her for this offer if he isn't hiding aarohi in the apartment

After coming to the apartment, the first thing aarohi wanted to take a long bath, to get some relief from her sore muscles,  Neil advised her that, this might not be a good idea, but she assured him that she will be fine

As aarohi was taking shower, Neil keep knocking on her door from time to time, just to make sure, she is OK,  he prepared something for her to eat, and to the chart provided by the hospital,  there are a list of symptoms she could be having upcoming days, as she is been starving herself for weeks, finishing off her meal off the table

After finishing her long, or rather say interrupted shower, she came out of the bathroom,  only to find Neil pacing near her bathroom, is he going to be this throughout, she had to consider leaving this place

"Neil, I was just taking a shower, because I want to, and because I can" said aarohi while going toward the room 
" I don't want to take the risk," said Neil following her to the bedroom
"Geez, get out of the room, I was changing," said an irritated aarohi
" Sorry, I didn't know, you have to get change, just after coming out of the bathroom," Neil said while turning around so his back facing her
"I am getting cold, so put something warm," said aarohi
"Should I turn off the ac, you spend a long time in the shower" said Neil while turning around in a motion
" Neil,  stop looking over here" aarohi yelled while covering herself
" get over yourself, I already saw all of you, multiple times," said Neil looking towards her
"That was a different scenario,  now get out of the room before I throw this chair on you," said an irritated aarohi
" fine going, call me when you are done, your lunch is ready

Neil was about to feed aarohi with his hand, only to be stopped by her
"What are you doing? , my hands are fine, I can eat on my own " said a frustrated aarohi
" I was just helping, " said a confused Neil
She was fine before coming here, all sweet and understanding,  what changed in some hours, maybe her withdrawal symptoms kicked in, mood swings, if it's just the start it's going to be some long days ahead, with this thought, Neil saw her taking a small spoonful of her meal, she is trying to eat, you can see her, but it's still so little

In the evening, while aarohi was resting on the couch and Neil working on his laptop,  aarohi asked if she could have some coffee,  it's been a long time since she had some

Neil denied her request since the doctor said no to caffeine, not just for some days but even after all this, she should have control over her caffeine consumption, Neil could see how much this upsets her, he bring juice instead,  afraid to see her reaction but to his surprise,  she finished her juice and went to the room, saying she needs to take nap, she must not be disturb before dinner time

Neil also took a nap, it was refreshing to him, after waking up from the couch,  he went to check on her, but she is still sleeping, Neil went near her, only to check,  then he saw she is sweating through her sweats, Neil carefully took the blanket and put on her, not before switching on the ac, it's very hot to sleep without ac in the first place, how come she even fell sleep on first place, feeling hot and sudden cold also withdrawal symptoms,  with this thought he went out the room
Neil spends his afternoon in the smoke zone in the apartment,  it's a small corner of the room where there present a big window, with a vent to pass the smoke, the room has set equipment is placed, as they use this room for shooting video and the Corner for smoking
Neil is been in the smoke zone for like an hour before he saw, aarohi coming her way, he was sitting on a chair, with a lit-up cigarette in between his fingers
" I was looking for you in the whole apartment," said aarohi moving toward him
"You were asleep when I came to you," said Neil standing up from his chair
" do you want anything," asked Neil looking at him worriedly
" Nothing,  just looking for you, now I found you here," said aarohi closing the distance between them
She stretched her hand forward to catch the cigarette from him, but only to be stopped by Neil himself
" Who said it's ok for you to have a cigarette," said Neil eyeing her
" Who said it's not," said aarohi with a little frustration
"Doctor did," Neil said while putting out his half-gone cigarette
Aarohi is feeling angry, angry with him, why does he has to be on her case this much, when to shower, when to, not to have coffee because Doctor said, he is getting on her nerve,  she is swallowing her anger, because as much angry he is making her right now, he is doing this because he cares, and no one deserves to be on the other end of anger, if they care, and more importantly not him, with this thought aarohi exit from the smoke zone

They were both in their room where Neil is working on his laptop, while aarohi trying to read something but failing as she can't concentrate,  it's a rare occurrence,  when she can't focus on her studies, with a sigh aarohi closed her book and went off the room, Neil's eyes are following her actions

When Neil entered the hall, he saw her doing exercise,  he remembered the instructions from the doctor, not to do physical exercises,  maybe yoga for calming their nerves,  but no exercise for 2 weeks at least, Neil is now thinking about how to stop her, without making her angry
"I thought your whole body was aching," said Neil moving toward her
" it still, but exercise helps me to focus, I am not able to focus on the book " replied a breathless aarohi
" you should stop right now, Doctor said about having difficulty in focusing right now, a side effect of overdose,  don't dwell on that, don't do exercise while you are at it, " Neil said calmly
"Okay, I will stop," said aarohi, with heavy breathing,  she thought to herself,  this never happened before, no matter how much tired she was, she was able to exercise anytime she wants before, now a little bit working out putting her out of breath
"Neil, could you help me to walk towards the room," said a tired aarohi
" is it difficult for you to walk, " asked a worried Neil moving toward her
"It's hard to breathe,  carry me to bed, I can't move," said aarohi worriedly
Neil came running towards her,  and carry her, she was very light in weight, he  Carried her before, but she is too light this time, has she been losing weight, Neil thought to himself, she did lose, with this Neil put her on the bed, he laid her on the bed, covering her in a blanket, a hand stopped him from moving 
" Stay,  lay down with me," aarohi said in a soft voice
Neil didn't say anything,  he just get on the bed and settled himself behind her, she is now moved backward to minimize the distance between them, and aarohi finally relaxes under his touch,  perfectly snuggled beside him

Neil feed her dinner with his hands, but she didn't stop him, even said she doesn't want to have anything because her stomach is aching,  Neil convinced her to have at least a little bit, that will help her stomach,  so she asked him to feed, Neil is surprised she asked him to feed her, while at lunch she had fits about that
But he did, after finishing half of the dinner, she said she is done, another spoon could end up in vomiting,  so he stopped

After a while, Neil gave her medicine and put her in bed again, he said he will be fine sleeping on the couch, she should have the bed, as it's a small one and she should be more comfortable.
Aarohi stopped him and tell him to stay, she said it will make her feel better and less guilty about the whole arrangement
Neil agreed,  he agreed to sleep next to her

It's been an hour since aarohi Is lying on the bed to get sleep, Neil is been sleeping, and she can hear his soft snore coming from the back of her, but she is unable to fall asleep, on top of that her whole body Is aching,  they give her pain killer, but it was mild to her relief, aarohi trying hard not to stir much in pain, and not groan but at last she couldn't stop, she gets up in a jerk

"What happened,  are you ok aarohi?" Neil asked, quickly switching on the lights
"Pain," said aarohi in hiss
"Where," asked Neil worriedly
" everywhere, it is everywhere," said aarohi with tears in her eyes
Neil's fear came true, it is indeed a sign of withdrawal,  withdrawal from all the pills she has been taking, she lied to the doctor about the period she has been taking, she is been abusing the drugs, and she is been lying the whole time
