Chapter 33: ROYGBIV

POV: Sonic

At least thirty minutes has passed as I sit there with a purring hedgehog on my lap, myself purring as well. I begin thinking as there's nothing else to do. 'Did I really think that Mephiles looked hot? I mean, he IS hot, but I can't believe I actually thought that. But... if I think he's hot, wouldn't that mean I also think- no. I'm not admitting that. It's not true. It's just a coincidence.' I sigh, looking down at the hedgie in my lap, and look him up and down (or I guess side to side). My heart race speeds up, now pounding, and I feel my tail barely twitching  'Damnit. I do think Shads is hot. This doesn't mean I like him though. I can think someone's hot without having feelings for them, right? I mean I think Rouge is kind of hot. Definitely not my type, but I can see why guys would like her.' My heart skips a beat when Shadow turns his head, looking up at me with a raised eyebrow. "Why is your heart beating so fast? Are you ok?" I feel my face heat up and I chuckle quietly. "Oh nothing, I'm fine. Just thinking about something. How did you know that though?" He chuckles that deep chuckle, laced with a purr, making my heart skip a beat again and I lose my breath for a second. "I can hear your pulse through your legs. It's so quiet in here that all I can hear is your heartbeat and our purring."

I smile nervously down at him and sigh "I'm just... struggling with some... thoughts. I'm fine I swear." He smirks up at me, talking with the purr still evident in his voice since I haven't stopped massaging his soft ears. "Does it have to do with what happened at the movies with Amy?~" My breath hitches and I stare down at Shads, freezing, making him whine since I stopped rubbing his ears. "H-how'd you know about that? What do you know?" He shrugs, sitting up. I pout, my legs now cold due to the lack of body heat. He chuckles at me and yawns 'did I make him tired?' "I overheard Amy talking to Rouge about it due to my sensitive hearing. She said you agreed that the main male character was hot and that you aren't sure if you like girls, guys or anyone for that matter." I sigh and look down, tapping my fingers together, answering with a defeated "Yeah, it has to do with that." He chuckles, causing me to look back up at him. "So, did you figure it out yet? Or are you just frustrated that you can't figure it out still?" I shrug my shoulders "I'm still not a hundred percent sure. It's all very confusing right now." Shadow smiles and chuckles "Well. For the record. I know I don't like girls. I've never once found a girl attractive. I was probably programmed that way to make sure I didn't ever become romantic with Maria."

I chuckle and smirk "What about guys? Have you ever found a guy attractive?~ Or do you feel nothing for everyone?" He blushes slightly, looking away "Well, yeah, I've found several guys attractive before. I guess it would be safe to say that I'm gay. Don't tell anyone that though or you will regret it." He glares at me, his face now noticeably red. "Don't worry Shads. Your secret is safe with me. It actually makes me feel better about myself. I will admit that here recently I've noticed that I think... certain guys... are attractive. I'm just not ready to put a label on myself yet." He smiles and takes a breath before speaking again, albeit hesitantly "Can I... do something?" I tilt my head in confusion, raising my eyebrow, asking "Uh, sure? What is it?" He chuckles and shakes his head "I can see that you're nervous, and I just want to return the favor, here, lay down." Shads pats his lap and I feel the heat rise to my face for what I'm about to do. I sigh and lay down, laying my head on his lap. I watch as he takes his gloves off, setting them beside him. After a few seconds I feel his hands on the base of my ears, massaging with the most gentle touch I've ever felt. I feel my eyes flutter shut and I begin purring deeply. I hear him chuckle, and my purr gets slightly louder as I nuzzle into him, placing one of my hands on his thigh, getting comfy. He chuckles at my behavior and begins purring softly, clearly enjoying making me happy, and I smile. He says quietly after a minute, startling me for a second "You know~? It's nice to feel this close to someone again. Thank you for convincing me that it's ok." I smile, and stutter out, as it's hard to talk while so deeply relaxed "N-no problem Sh-Shads." He chuckles again and continues with his magic touch, purring once more.
