Chapter 10: A Hard Boiled Egg.

((AN: I realised that I was writing much faster than anticipated and before I published this chapter today, I was working on chapter 26 😅. So I'm editing and posting a bunch of chapters at once.))

POV: Eggman 15 minutes before the incident.

I wake up abruptly to an alarm going off, having fallen asleep at my desk. Orbot and Cubot roll into my office with urgency and artificial panic. "SIR SIR, there is a huge surge of chaos energy coming from Angel island!" I wipe the drool off my face and sit up in my chair, turning around to the two robots quickly. "WHAT?! We need to go check it out. Get my eggmobile ready, and bring the Eggbroiler. We have no idea what we're going to fly into!" I turn to my desk and click the button to turn off the alarm before turning back around. "Go Now!" I shout at the two measly robots still standing there.

I quickly type on my computer, setting my traps and alarms, making sure that I will be notified if this is just a diversion to sneak into my base. After I finish with that, I put Bokkun in charge while I'm away. He salutes to me and then puts his hands on his hips "I won't let you down this time Eggman!" I huff, saying "You better not!" and walk off, going down the halls to the hangar where I park my eggmobile. I give the robots commands as I pass them, warning them to be prepared for an attack at any time. I finally make it to my destination and enter the room, seeing that the robots had done as they were told. Cubot speaks up "Sir, we got your eggmobile ready, and prepared the Eggbroiler for battle just as you said." The robot stands there. Swaying back and forth like it wants to say something. I sigh "What is it?" Cubot pleads "Can we come too?" "Pleaaaaasse?" Added Orbot. I sigh and put my palm on my forehead "Fine. You two can come. But Don't. Mess. ANYTHING. up or I will dismantle you with my bare hands!" The robots gasp and bow "Of course sir. Thank you! We'll do our best" they say in unison.

We climb into the eggmobile and I push the button to open the hatch of the base. Once it's opened enough I command the Eggbroiler to follow me and take off towards Angel island. Expecting a huge fight.

As we get there I easily see the cause of the surge. The Blue menace and my ancestors creation in an all-out battle. Both clearly using a lot of their chaos energies. As I'm about to charge down and take down the blue rat while he's distracted, I see the Pink brat swing her hammer at the two when they collide with each other, sending them flying towards the Master Emerald and knocking it off its stand. The sudden interruption sending the island back down towards the earth. Not long after, a huge burst of green light surrounds the area, temporarily blinding me. After several minutes  when I am able to see again, the island is all the way down to the ground, and everyone is gone. As is the Master Emerald. "WHAT?!" I shout, confused as to what just happened. 'I need to figure out what just happened, and where those pests just went!' I think to myself as I give a command "ORBOT! CUBOT! Make yourselves useful and go down there to look for any evidence of what just happened!!"

After hours of searching and finding no trace of them or the Emerald, we decide to head back to the base so I can brainstorm and check on the state of things there, 'Knowing Shadow can chaos control, I have a sneaking suspicion that was all just a ruse to get me out there, and he chaos controlled the whole team to destroy me! Ugh! Clever play Hedgehog, clever play.' We arrive back at the 'secret' base and there is absolutely nothing wrong. The guards are still stationed in their spots, the doors and walls are all intact, there is no sign of anyone in or around the building aside from my bots. 'WHAT?!?!' I mentally scream "How is this possible? Where did they go?! Orbot, Cubot, tell all the guards to be on high alert and make sure no one gets anywhere near here! Station one in each room of the building as well. They might chaos control inside. Then report back to me. I have a special job for you two."

((AN: I know this chapter is short, but I only wanted it in eggmans Point of view, and didn't want too much of the action at once))
