Chapter 30: Meeting Silver

((AN: I'm aware you guys don't know what's going to happen with Eggman still, and haven't had an eggy update in a while. I struggle writing his point of view so I skip a lot of time during his chapters. You don't need to know day by day Eggman anyway. That would be boring. As it currently stands, the most recent thing that happened with Eggman is still several days in the future where we're currently at with the alternate dimension. Hence why there's only a rare eggman chapter. Anyway, back to the story.))

POV 3rd Person

The group wake up for the day, one by one. Sonic and Knuckles woke up first, around 6am like they normally do. Amy and Rouge woke up next at around 7, stumbling into the living room to talk to the two boys who were already wide awake. Tails woke up at 7:30, walking out into the living room, yawning and stretching. The only one they were waiting on now was Shadow. By the time 8:15 rolled around, Sonic was getting impatient. He sighed before saying to the rest of the group. "Ok, someone needs to wake Shadow up. I'm tired of waiting for him. He can just meet us there." Amy looked to the others before shaking her head "I'm definitely not going to wake him up. I don't have a death wish." Tails and Knuckles nodded, agreeing with her, and Rouge shook her head "Sonic, the most obvious answer is to send you." The blue hedgehog tilted his head and furrowed his eyebrows "Me? Why me?" Tails chuckled and Rouge responded "Well, big blue, if he feels close enough with you to cuddle in his drunken state, you are probably the safest one to go in there without being killed by waking him up." Sonic throught for a minute, tapping his foot before shrugging "I guess. Wish me luck. I'll need it." With that the blue hedgehog walked to Shadow's room, slowly opening the door. He disappeared from the others' view as he slowly walked in the sleeping hedgehogs room. The others chat amongst themselves waiting to see how this plays out.

Sonic slowly shuts the door, making sure not to make a sound. He turns around and walks quietly up to Shadow's bed, glancing at the sleeping hedgehog. Shadow is laying on his side, cuddling a pillow close to his chest, nuzzling into it, sleeping peacefully. Sonic smiles at the sight and covers his mouth, not wanting to 'awww' out loud. He slowly sits on the bed, reaching his hand out, letting it hover for a second before he gently rubs Shadow's quills. Shadow begins purring and Sonic chuckles silently, continuing for a minute before quietly speaking "Shads? It's me. Can you wake up so I can tell you something?" The purring stops suddenly and Shadow whips around, seeing the blue hedgehog sitting on his bed. He jumps and furrows his eyebrows. He sits up, the blanket falling down around his waist, and rubs his eyes before looking back at Sonic. "When did you get in here?" He asks sleepily. Sonic chuckles "I've only been in here for a couple minutes. I will leave and let you go back to sleep, but I just wanted to let you know the others and I are going to head to the building Tails told us about."

Shadow blinks a couple times before processing what Sonic said. Sonic starts to get up, but Shadow grabs his hand, stopping him from leaving "Wait." Sonic stops and sits back down, turning towards Shadow "What is it Shads?" Shadow let go of his hand and covered a yawn before answering. "We don't need to walk over there as one big group. It will look suspicious and we run the risk of being followed. I can chaos control us all there, that way it completely takes away the possibility of being seen." Sonic tilts his head lowing his ears slightly in worry. "But, that will be equivalent to 6 chaos controls at once, won't that overload you?" Shadow just shrugs "I've been keeping my energy levels high, so I can do something like that if need be. I should be fine." Sonic nods slowly "Ok, but tell me if you're getting another migraine. I don't want to find out later that you nearly hurt yourself by helping us." Shadow nods "I'm only going to agree because I'm not worried about it. I'll be fine." He yawns again before pushing the blanket off and standing up, grabbing his clothes and slipping them on. The two of them walk out of the room and meet the others, explaing the change of plans.
