Chapter 19: Adult T or D

((AN: This is a very long chapter just because I didn't feel like splitting it up into several parts. Also, the chapters are going to be a little longer from here on.))

POV: Knuckles

I wake up and head into the kitchen to grab an apple for breakfast. I head back to the living room and eat it in peace, waiting for the others to wake up. Sonic makes his way out first, just like yesterday, and walks into the living room looking like he got no sleep at all. I raise my eyebrow but decide to just stay quiet, observing. He shuffles into the kitchen, starting the coffee pot and coming out to sit in here. He finally notices I'm awake and puts on an obvious act. "Oh hey Knux, good morning. How'd you sleep?" I shrug my shoulders taking another bite before I reply "Like I normally do. The couch is more comfy than the ground though."

He chuckles and smiles "Yeah I bet it is." I decide to question him "So. How'd you sleep?" He seems hesitant but replies "I slept fine. Passed out quickly, just like I normally do." 'Well that was an obvious lie. What is he hiding?' I look at him suspiciously before visually blowing it off. After a few minutes Tails stumbles out of his room, still half asleep. He yawns and walks to the kitchen, grabbing himself a granola bar before turning to us. "Mornin' guys." He mumbles sleepily. "Good morning" Sonic says. I just nod in reply. I take a couple bites while Tails eats his granola bar. As he heads out the door I wave with my half-eaten apple in hand. "Have a good day at school." In an instant, Sonic is by the fox, ruffling his fur and giving him a quick hug "See you after school buddy. What time do you get out anyway?" Tails replies as he grabs his backpack from the closet. "I get out at 4, but I might be staying later for the science club or robotics. I'll update you when I find out." I watch as Sonic nods in reply before the fox walks out the door. I hear the coffee maker beep and Sonic goes over to it in a flash, pouring himself a cup of coffee and setting another cup beside the pot. As if on que, Shadow stumbles out of his room, pouring the coffee in the ready cup and the two hedgehogs go to the table to sit. They drink their coffees in silence as I continue to eat my apple.

As I finally finish, I get up and throw the core away in the kitchen trash. I turn to the two hedgehogs sitting there sleepily. "Why are you two so tired?" Shadow grumbles back at me "I'm always this tired." And Sonic just yawns "No reason." I roll my eyes, walking back to the living room to do some sit ups. As I'm finishing my set, I hear giggling, and sit up to see Rouge and Amy standing in the hallway. Rouge's face was red, and Amy, the cause of the giggling, was hitting her with her shoulder. "Stop it Amy. He's just doing his morning workou- look, he's staring now. Great~." She pushes the female hedgehog away, shaking her head and heading into the kitchen. 'Huh, everyone's acting so weird today.' I shake it off for now and continue with my workout, listening to the convo in the kitchen.

"Morning handsomes~" Rouge says in that sexy voice of hers. Shadow just grumbles in reply and Sonic says "Morning Rouge." I hear Amy tapping her foot "Since when do you drink coffee, Sonikku?" I hear both Shadow and Rouge chuckle quietly and Sonic reply with "I dunno. Shads bought me that coffee the other day, and it was surprisingly really good, so I figured I'd try it like this. Turns out it's also good." Rouge chuckles with that laugh that gives me chills. "Hon, let him try new things. Maybe we all should take this advice. Try things we think we might not like, because who knows. You might be pleasantly surprised~" 'Her voice makes me feel... odd.' I think to myself, calming my racing heart.

Rouge leaves the kitchen and heads back to where I'm now sitting on the couch. "So, none of us work until this afternoon, and I was wondering if you'd be up for a game of Truth or Dare with us once the sleepy boys wake up?~" 'with that voice. How could I say no?' I blush, thankful that I just worked out so I can blame it on that if need be. "Sure. Sounds fun. How do you play?" Rouge explains the basics to me, and answers any questions I had. Shortly after, the three hedgehogs made their ways into the living room. The two males looking much more lively than before.
