Chapter 49: Ambush Part 2

POV: Sonic

I notice the multiple Eggmans and the innocent bystanders getting caught in the crossfire. I growl and get into my fighting stance, hearing a small voice in the back of my head say,'Come on. Let me take over. It will be over in no time if you do.' I shake my head, pushing away his words and begin saving the citizens, running each one to safety. Once I have made sure that all of the citizens are at a safe distance from the fight, I turn to my left and notice Tails being grabbed by one of the larger robots. 'He wouldn't be in trouble if you let me help.' I grunt, mentally shooting back 'Shut up Dark, you're too violent' and dash over there, jumping in the air and using a few homing attacks on the bot, freeing my little brother. He gets up and smiles at me, whacking a bot away before saying "Thanks Sonic. You see the two Eggmans up there, too... Right?" 'I can take care of them both easily.' I sigh, trying to control my anger and spindash a couple of bots, rolling my eyes, ignoring Dark's words. "Yeah. I figured he'd find us eventually. But right now? And not to mention, there's suddenly two of them?!" Tails whacks a couple more bots before responding with "Well, technically three if you count this world's good Eggman." I chuckle half-heartedly and reply."Oh yeah, true." We continue fighting off badniks until I see one of the mobians being held up by a couple bots, and I destroy another before saying,"Gotta go. See you." I dash over and save the team member, getting a thanks as a reply. I nod and hear that familiar voice in my head say again,'Come on. You know you want to let me come out and play' I growl to myself, angrily bashing a few robots before I hear loud thudding footsteps coming from behind me.

POV: Shadow

((It's going to kind of bounce back and forth right now because I want to write their thoughts out))

I appear in the prison with Mephiles and look around, noticing that we showed up in the cell block. 'Perfect.' I think to myself as we start breaking the locks, freeing some of the prisoners. I hear an alarm go off above us and growl since It is hurting my sensitive ears. I quickly throw a couple of chaos spears at the sirens, instantly silencing them. My ears picking up the sounds of them still going off throughout the rest of the building. We quickly work to release all the wrongly imprisoned mobians, not wanting to waste time, breaking the locks since the glass is made from power resistant material, similar to what they used back on the A.R.K. . They got out of their cells and helped us release more, at least the ones who could. I hear footsteps and turn around, noticing about 50 guards coming through the doors into the room. "We have company." I growl to Mephiles. I glare at the nuisances and hear Mephiles say, "You finish with helping free the prisoners. I'll deal with them." I nod and continue with the locks. When I hear my communicator go off, Tails' voice on the other end shouts,"SHADOW! Help! It's- it's Sonic! Hurry!" 'Click' there is urgency and terror evident in his voice, making me worry. I turn to Mephiles and give a frustrated growl, knowing I need to be done here quickly. "Mephiles, protect them." I say to the mobian in front of me. He warps back behind me and suspends all of the mobians in his shadow realm, keeping them safe from what I plan to do next. I walk towards the guards, my head lowered, growling deeply as I remove my inhibitor rings. I begin thinking of what might be happening with Sonic and start to glow red and bend down, channeling a good portion of my anger and chaos energy. I glare up at the guards just as I shout the words "CHAOS BLAST" and watch their faces as they get blown away, half of them now dead as they were way too close to the blast. I stand up and grab my rings, slipping them back on and walking back to Mephiles. "There. That'll buy you time. Free the others. I have to go. Tails-" He cuts me off with a nod."I know, it's about Sonic. Go, save him." I nod and chaos control to the front of the G.U.N. headquarters. I see Tails' horrified face and turn around where he's looking, seeing... Sonic?
