"Can we visit them again?"
My lips parted when he said that words. Is he really serious? He want to visit bahay ampunan again? Anong nakain ng isang Zoren Alejandro Santiago?
"Are you sure?" nag aalangang tanong ko. I just want to make sure! "You're not kidding, right?" tanong ko ulit nang hindi siya sumagot.
His brows shot up like I said something wrong!
"Do I look like I'm kidding? I'm just asking if we can. Kung ayaw mo ay hindi ko naman pipilitin." umiwas siya ng tingin at pinaandar na ulit ang kotse.
Naguguluhan ako sa inasal niya ngayon. Kanina lang ay napakatahimik niya kaya takot akong kausapin o lapitan siya dahil baka bulyawan niya ako. And now, here he is asking me if we can visit them again? Kung sa akin lang ay pwedeng-pwede lalo na at na mi-miss ko talaga ang mga bata. But knowing Zoren, he's a dangerous man. I can't just trust him. Baka mamaya ay may masama siyang balak sa mga bata.
"I'm your victim, Zoren." sabi ko at masama siyang tinignan. I don't know if guni-guni ko.lang ba ito pero bahagya siyang natigilan and I saw emotions in his eyes. Guilt? I don't know.
"I know, hindi ka naman siguro tatakas, diba?" tanong niya at sandaling tumingin sa akin bago tinuon ulit ang paningin sa daan.
My lips rose up. "So, you trust me now, huh?"
"It's not that."
"Then why?" bahagyang tumaas ang boses ko. I'm so frustrated. "Are you doing this in purpose?"
"No." he immediately answered. "I just want to help them." he said softly. I hate it when I heard his voice so soft like this. And I hated it when something on my stomach fluttering.
"Wow, so may puso ka rin pala?" I said and laugh sarcastically. "I wonder, what do a heartless man like you feel when someone's begging you to stop them from killing? Do you feel guilty? Nagdalawang isip ka ba na patayin sila?" tanong ko.
There, I saw how his eyes get darkened like I hit something on him. His jaw clenched and he tightened his grip on the steering wheel. His breathing also became heavy as if I had said something to anger him.
He didn't speak again until we reached his mansion. I quietly got out of his car and he did the same but his expression was still the same. I closed my mouth and felt a little guilty because of what I said earlier.
At least ako kahit kaunti ay may konsensya. Siya, wala.
We entered his mansion and Manang approached us and bowed slightly to greet us. I just nodded at her but Zoren didn't even look at her. I just followed him up to the second floor. He didn't even look at me, too. Maybe he's angry because of earlier. I don't care, I just want him to be angry so that when his patience runs out, he can let me out of his mansion...
He can kill me...
After I entered my room, I just rested for a while and went to the bathroom to take a shower. I can't forget what he said earlier. Then, does he really want to help children? Is he close to children? With his appearance and attitude, you wouldn't think he was close to children.
I remembered what happened earlier at the orphanage. Iyong pag-sama niya sa akin doon. Iyong pag-sama niya sa akin sa mall para bumili ng mga gamit ng mga bata. Iyong ngiti niya noong nakaharap niya ang mga bata. Iyong pag-sama niya rin sa akin noong pinuntahan ko si Ninay. Is he really sincere?
Does he really have no bad intentions towards the children?
I was in the bathroom for almost an hour when I decided to get out. I just got dressed. I only wear a night satin dress with thin straps. Pagkatapos ay lumapit ako sa kama at umupo.
