Chapter Eight

Mercy

While waiting for Grant to show up, I kept feeling eyes on me. My first thought was Billy, but when I looked to him I found him talking to the Beta. He was apologizing for his behavior, but I could careless about that. I looked to the young Alpha James next and he had his back to me talking to his Gamma so quietly I couldn't hear a word.

I just happened to link eyes with his Gamma and found who had been staring at me. His eyes bore into mine with so much intensity yet there were some curiosity behind them. I guess he isn't used to seeing strong woman being answered to like Billy answered to me.

Make no mistake we are all one, but when it comes to answering questions they come to me and Billy both. It's mostly because of who my Mother is. I didn't break eye contact with him not once until a branch snapped behind me. I turned to Grant and smiled yet again behind my mask.

"What is all this?" He growled.
"This is Alpha James, his Beta Brian, and Gamma Sebastian."
"Was I talking to you?" He asked angrily.
"You asked so I answered."

He took a step toward me and I lowered my mask while tilting my head.

"As I said when I linked you, they want to speak to you specifically."
"Go home." He ordered me, but I just rolled my eyes and turned away.

He is not my Father and never will be. He snatched me by the arm and pulled me so close we were practically nose to nose. There were several growls that followed. I smiled again. He was livid.

"Can I help you?"
"Leave." He whispered dangerously low.
"No."

He shoved me back causing me to stumble towards Billy who caught me before I could fall. He is just making this worse for himself.

"What business do you have here?" Grant asked James who looked angry.
"I James Wall challenge you Grant Ford to a fight to the death for your title." James spat.

Grant looked around before his eyes landed on me. His Wolf was shining at the surface as the betrayal laid on his face.

"You did this!" He yelled coming towards me pointing a finger in my face.

I just stayed calm.

"I did no such thing."
"DO NOT LIE TO ME!" He yelled.
"Accept now or I will take your Pack and lands forcefully!" James yelled as two warriors pulled both his Gamma and Beta back.

Something tell's me these men don't like woman beaters. Grant was shaking in anger looking into my eyes. He raised his hand to slap me so I kneed him in his member. That felt good. I did tell him before if he ever hit me again I was going to have to hit him back.

"You will never lay your hands on me or my Mother again."

The young Alpha came to stand next to him, then snatched my knife from my belt. He punched Grant in the side of the head making him fall to the ground on his side. This just goes to show how weak he really is.

He looked up to the sky knowing his fate to come, then whispered low enough we could all hear him.

"Forgive me, my Love." He spoke, then James slit his throat.

I could feel the grounds shake a bit signifying our Alpha had been killed and replaced by another. I looked up to James. On the inside I was jumping for joy, but on the outside I was shocked that this had finally happened.

"Somehow I expected some kind of fight, but he just gave up."
"It's a good thing." Billy smiled while looking at the now dead body of Grant.

My Mother is free. The Pack is free. We are all free.
