Chapter Five

I laid in bed next to my Mom after waking up. I couldn't leave her side last night. I didn't want to. How could I? Every fiber in my body told me if I left her, he would come for her. If he did, he would do horrific things to her to finish the Mating progress and I couldn't allow that.

What could I do to stop him though? Nothing. He would over power me, and beat me to get to her. Possibly kill me even. He may not be a true Alpha to this Pack, but he an Alpha by blood. That will never change.

The knife under my pillow gave me the protection I needed to feel, but the powerless inside of me didn't. When the moving around downstairs started, it didn't just fill me with fear.. It filled me with anger. Anger at the fact that he had done this to her. He marked her against her wants and will. That! That is what fueled my anger.

I carefully got out of bed taking the knife with me as slowly as I could not to wake her. When the door closed softly behind me, that determination to protect my Mother came stronger. It came stronger with ever step I took until I was at the top of the stairs. She is all I have left and I'll die before I let him break her.

However, all of it disappeared when I got to the bottom and found my Best Friends sitting on the couch. I sighed catching their attention and Marina jumped up.

"What in the hell happened yesterday?" She asked.

I shushed her while sitting down to tell them everything. Every word I spoke and every way he reacted. Everything.

"Then she said it was always going to happen because they were both Mateless. It was the only reason he never locked her up with Beta Walsh and it was the reason he still payed her the little money he did."

They sat there quietly processing everything before Marina spoke up.

"She needs to run. Run far away from him." She stated in a hushed voice.
"She won't do that." Billy sighed.
"Why not? She didn't need to before. Now she has to." She spoke.
"She can't leave because her Daughter and people are here." Mitch said.
"That shouldn't stop her. She could leave and go get help."

The guys looked to me unsure and even though Marina suggested it, she doesn't look to happy about it.

"SHE isn't going anywhere." My Mother's voice sounded from the stairs causing us all to jump.
"Mom? You're up early."
"Mmhm. Don't pretend like I didn't just hear you all. I'm not leaving and that's final." She stated leaving no room to argue as she sat next to me.

You know me, though. I have a mouth that doesn't know when to shut the hell up.

"No. Mom, you have taken care of us for so long. It's our turn to take care of you. You have to go before he tries to complete the bond."
"I want you all to listen to me and listen real good. I'm not going any where. You think my Daughter is the only one keeping me here. No, you three are too. Ever since the day you all came marching into my office, I have come to love you as my own. Mitch included. You are my children as well." She smiled joking to Mitch.

I wasn't smiling though.

"I can't just leave my babies here. I can't. I don't know how he would react if I did leave. It might not be finalized, but the bond is there now. I can feel my whole body itching to go to him and trust me, I hate it. I never wanted this, but if this can do some good.." She trailed of causing me to turn my whole body to her.
"No. Absolutely not!"
"It is a sacrifice I am willing to make. For you four. For this Pack." She smiled.

I shook my head not believing what I was hearing. How could she say something like this?!

"Momma Cheryl, you can't do this." Marina sighed.
"I can and I will. What's done is done." She finalized before standing and walking to the kitchen.

I looked to everyone practically fighting the tears and motioned for them to follow me. We all walked out the back door and into the garden. It wasn't too far away from her, but far enough where she couldn't hear us from inside.

"We need a plan."
"Like what? It's not like we can just leave unnoticed and go find help." Billy stated.

We all sat there racking our brains until Billy laughed. I looked at him like he was crazy until he sobered up and looked to us all.

"Oh, Goddess. I have the best idea." He smiled.
"What?" Mitch asked.
"We don't need to go anywhere. We just need help getting someone to get us help, right?" He asked no one in particular.
"Your point?" Marina asked.
"We know someone who could do just that." He exclaimed.

I raised my eyebrow and looked to everyone until he looked to me. I was confused.

"Voldemort." He exclaimed happily causing everyone and myself including to groan.
"Are you serious? You honestly thing he would help us?" Marina deadpanned.
"Why not? Even if he doesn't, what would it hurt to ask?" Mitch asked.

I just shook my head.

"I'm not going to be the one to call him."
"You don't have to. Give me his number and I will go home and grab my phone to call him, then come back and tell you what he says." Billy smiled.

I took my phone out of my back pocket and texted the number to him.

"Don't mention anything about me, but do tell him about how Grant marked my Mother against her will."
"Will do." He smiled standing.
"We're coming to!" Marina groaned getting up and running after him.

I looked to Mitch and sighed.

"Don't worry. I'm sure Ruben will contact someone to come help us." He smiled causing me to grimace at the sound of his name.

He chuckled standing and jogging away.

"Voldemort!!"

He laughed loudly making me smile, then I walked back inside. My Mother was sitting at the table eating eggs silently. Don't worry, Mom. We'll save you. We'll save all of us. I hope...

She turned to me and smiled and I couldn't help but to smile back.

"Where did everyone go?" She asked.
"Training."
"Shouldn't you be with them?" She wondered.
"And leave you? I don't think so."

She shook her head and took another bite of her eggs.

"What?"
"I've excepted it, Mercy. You should have too. You can't protect me. That's my job." She stated.
"It's our job to protect each other. You know that."

She smiled sadly looking up to the picture of a Family portrait. It was a picture of me, her, and my Father.

"I miss him."
"I do too, Honey." She smiled.

I looked down at my hand's remember the day my Mom and I cried in Grants arms when my Dad died from another Pack attacking us. How did things end up like this?

"I'm going to go shower."
"Okay." She smiled out as I turned and walked upstairs.

As I showered I prayed and prayed to the Moon Goddess that Ruben will help us in anyways he can.
