Mercy

Birds. I could hear birds flying and singing outside. They sounded so beautiful. The songs they sang could lull me back to sleep, but I knew if I didn't get up now, I would waste my day away.

I slowly rolled on my side searching for Bash, but the sheets were cold. Peeling my eyes open the first feeling I felt was disoriented. The next? Confusion. I quickly sat up as every fiber in my being went on alert. Something was wrong.

I laid in my bed, but it wasn't in the hotel room I had been staying in. It was my bed in the Coven house. Finn stood next to me as my Mother sat in a chair with a relief filled face.

Everything felt so familiar yet so foreign. My room. It was different. It was just how it was before I moved all my things here. It was my room, but wasn't? How did I get here and where is Bash?

"What's going on? How did I get here? Where's Bash?"
"Slow down. You are just coming out if a three day sleep. Slight disorientation could be normal." My Mother replied.

I looked at her. Three day sleep? Is that why I'm back here? Bash was worried?

"Mercy, what's going on?" Finn asked lowly.
"How did I get here? Where is Bash?"

My Mother and Finn shared a worried look.

"He is fine, but we have bigger problems right now." She stated standing to her feet and walking to sit next to me.

Finn back away to stand by the foot of the bed allowing her room to sit. He looked conflicted while she looked as if she was trying to be strong. Why is this so familiar?

"We need your help, Mer. You're the only one that can save them." She whispered looking down as she took my hand into hers.
"Save who?"

She looked up to me with tears building in her eyes. What happens while I was gone?

"All our warriors were captured. James and Brian included." She started.

Warriors? James's doesn't have Warriors anymore. They were all killed. Did he get new ones while I was away? Wait, captured?

"All the warriors were lined up and killed yesterday. Today, they plan to line up James, Brian, and-" Before she could finish her sentence, I finished it for her.
"Billy."

She didn't react how I expected her to. I expect her to look at me like I was crazy. Billy was gone, there was no way he could be lined up with them. Instead she looked surprised at the fact I knew this already.

"What is happening? Is this a dream?"
"I wish it was." My Mother smiled sadly.

I just shook my head. No, this isn't possible. I've lived through all of this. There is no way this is real. I can't go through this pain again. I just can't.

I remember Bash and I marking each other again and rekindled our bond. It was almost as if it was blocked? How is that possible? Even while dreaming I should be able to feel him, right?

"Mercy, we need you to-" Finn started, but I cut him off.
"Can you two give me a moment?"

I know it's rude to cut people off, but under these circumstances.. you'd understand too. Again, they shared a look before silently leaving. Once the door closed I wiggled my legs to feel for any sort of muscle aches.

I swung my legs over the side knowing I needed to get this over with. I stood up catching myself before I could fall, then sat back down to massage my legs.

Three days? The war with McWay? Saving them again? What the hell is happening. It dawned on my that I was still alive. The dark fog hasn't killed Raven, Beaut, and I.
