The next few days are peaceful at home, while at the bakery Sam and Robin finish the cake, needing to get the cake prepared for transport. Spencer listens as his boyfriend goes over plans, paying careful attention to any mention of needing to attend the party. Robin and Sam will be required by their boss to make sure the cake is delivered on time, in one piece, and to cut slices for the guests in an attempt to bring more attraction to the bakery. Spencer puts together a plan to go along with them, craving to watch over Sam. He has put out the best outfits for them, having gone through Sam's dresser without permission to dig out clean, dress pants.

Sam wasn't upset at finding Spencer going through his things, once given an explanation he had simply let his boyfriend be. Finding it cute the youtuber takes such interest in his job and wants to tag along, that he's picking out Sam's clothes. The puppy boy doesn't notice the increasing signs of possessiveness in Spencer; trying to isolate which gender he interacts with, staying at his side and how he invites himself wherever Sam goes. The baker merely sees a cute boyfriend, not having real life experiences with toxic behaviors or red flags to be overly aware of them.

Spencer had finally gotten Sam to listen, trained decently enough to serve when asked. He had told Sam to get them snacks one night in his apartment while gathering movies on the table, and the baker had not hesitated to do as commanded. Blushed prettily at the good boy he received. Whatever Spencer demands, Sam plays fetch for him without a single complaint, taking great pleasure in bringing his boyfriend specific items rather than automatically doing it himself.

He always gets praise and rewards, little kisses and hugs, small shoulder massages. Sam finds he likes cooking in Spencer's home, is able to prepare homemade meals for both of them and feeding the man gives him such a primal sensation of happiness that he wants to keep doing it. He is spending much more time he realizes, in Spencer's home rather than his own. He finds he doesn't mind, recognizing the familiar feeling of safety and comfort when he walks in just as stepping into his own apartment. Alarmingly quickly, Spencer's house is turning into a second home for Sam and the dogs. A fact that pleases the older man to no end.

Spencer had finally convinced Sam to let him tag along to the grocery store as well, keeping tight hold on the kart and one of Sam's hands. He kept mostly quiet and watched as Sam had fun going down isles for ingredients, making playful comments here and there with innocent touches that plainly mark Sam as his to surrounding people. He made sure to buy groceries for his kitchen, asking Sam for meals they could make together and things he could cook for Spencer. That appeared to make Sam light up, delighted at more opportunities to cook and serve the older man.

The redhead had spent more than he had ever on food at the store, now his refrigerator and cabinets are filled to near bursting with fresh ingredients or spices and other things he has never bought or used before. This means he can get Sam to stay over more and make use of the food. His puppy knows he can't figure out the advanced recipes and will need to serve him meals to help get rid of the perishable foods. He'll be more than happy to do that.

No one had seemingly recognized Spencer in the store or around the town, if they did they're playing by his rules to leave him alone. Sam hasn't had anything odd happen on his phone, the youtuber checks and knows nothing on the device is vulnerable to his viewers. With this knowledge, Spencer relaxes slightly from being on edge with the possibility of someone hurting his boy. He knows Sam may not be in danger of someone harming him physically, more mentally or emotionally, but the man won't take any chances.

Anyone who makes his puppy feel horrible in any type of way, won't be happy once Spencer is finished with them. He'll keep the skittish boy protected with his life and keep him isolated if need be, unafraid of the thought of locking Sam in the apartment or a house with the dogs. In fact, he greatly considers telling Sam to stay put in the man's apartment without needing to work after the day they have at the party.
