The parents love Spencer, they haven't seen through the mostly false act of the man. While Spencer liked certain aspects of the day with Taylor and Mary, it was mainly Sam's hyperactivity and shyness of questions about their relationship that he thought was cute. He did dislike that they asked questions about him, where he is from, where he went to school, and how he ended up in the apartment across from Sam. Of course, the Youtuber answered them vaguely, just enough to please the expression his boy gave him when questioned.
Sam wanted them to like each other, his boyfriend, and his parents, Spencer needed to play along to make the baker happy. Which he had succeeded at. Lunch, or dinner, went well. Mary requested a tour of the house, saying she wanted to good my son has it. Taylor laughed at his wife but stayed downstairs with Spencer while his son showed his mother upstairs. Instead, he rolled about on the first floor, Spencer walked along next to him.
When they got to the office, Taylor looked around at the desk and the set up of computers on side of the room and the other side full of dog beds, blankets, and pillows. He was pleased to see that his son's partner was taking so well to the dogs, glad the animals aren't being mistreated by the man and that they were welcomed in what was a private working area. When told of Spencer's job, Taylor didn't understand what a Youtuber was and wasn't certain if it would sustain a lifestyle for his son. Once Spencer explained he got paid, just like any other job, the father was reassured, only slightly.
Mary was less assured by this, aching to question Sam if he is the one paying for things or if Spencer is "one of those deadbeats who play video games all day." Sam had to swear and promise his mother the Youtuber wasn't like that multiple times in a quiet, explained Spencer was the one who rented the house and helped the baker buy food. The nurse was merely concerned for her son, wanting the best for him. She pulled back when she saw how happy and confident in Spencer he was, this only heightened her liking for the man.
Sam was delighted everyone loved his lasagna, his father and Spencer having seconds or thirds. His mother praised his schooling and job, saying how proud she was that he found what he is great at and what he loves to do. They spoke about his college, the parents worrying over grades, and how the projects go. Encouraging their son to work in a restaurant for the experience, even shadowing a head chef in a high-end building.
Taylor went into the backyard, staying up on the deck to play fetch with the dogs, laughing at all three of them falling over each other. By the end of the day, they were delighted with how far Sam came and how he is doing, going as far as to welcome Spencer into the family. The man grinned a fake grin, giving them a false thank you. Not caring if he's welcomed, just glad they bought his act and they wouldn't be causing problems for him and his boy.
They had visited two weeks ago, leaving the couple to go about more training for Sam. Spencer had started using light necklaces around the baker's neck as a collar, ones that don't hang and cling to the boy's collar bones. Disguising one as a gift to get his boy to wear it, proceeding to carefully tug at it with a stern command to come. Sam was surprised, yet incredibly excited to wear a gift from his boyfriend. He has no clue it's meant as a collar, to bind him to the Youtuber. The first time he was pulled along by the thin chain necklace he was stunned, following any direction he was led around the house in a shocked, confused state.
However, in the guest room, he was rewarded with a good boy and a squeeze to his nape, along with a brownie bite muffin. It felt so good to be praised for simply following that it's been a pleasure to obey at the tug, with and without a command or not. Spencer had even written down a newer rule, don't remove the necklace. Unknown to Sam, his boyfriend is seriously considering adding a tracking charm to the chain. Not caring if it is too much or creepy, he just wants to know where his puppy is when the boy is out alone- doesn't matter how rare that is.
