When Sam sees the house, he gasps in excitement at how pretty it is. Holding Spencer's hand with one of his as he beams up at the man, then turns to encourage the dogs to sniff around, getting them hyped up. The more he spoke about it to get them bouncing around, only seemed to make himself hyper as well. It reminded Spencer of the one puppy that leads his brothers on mischievous missions, the one who is always hyper. He had to call for Sam multiple times to get his boy to pause running through the yard with the animals, playing with them, and mostly forgetting why they were at the house.
Instantaneously, Sam bounced up the three steps to the porch with a small herd of dogs at his feet. All four puppies watched eagerly, prancing on their feet, as he unlocked the door with a key the owner let him use. He allowed his boys inside first, following behind to shut the door and watch their reactions. The dogs were unleashed to be able to scope out the smells and new surroundings, while Spencer took Sam's hand to guide him through. The boy was amazed, unable to stay still, and needed to touch the counters or walls to remind himself he could live there.
He stayed quiet as Spencer explained what they could do, adding comments on what they could use a spare room for only after his boyfriend paused his words. Sam could picture himself and the dogs in the house with Spencer; playing with toys or taking food to the Youtuber while he works, watching movies. The kitchen is his absolute favorite room, it's small yet spacious with much more cabinet space than his apartment. The refrigerator is bigger as well, able to hold a lot more items than Spencers. Having two floors is a new experience for Sam, the house he grew up in was a one-floor home and he's lived in an apartment since moving.
Going upstairs, he finds he enjoys having so much space to move in and explore. It's more space to fill and clean, but he has no issue cleaning. The dogs jog everywhere, going into each corner with their wet noses to the floor. They slide along the smooth flooring when they don't slow down, colliding with each other or the human's legs. Fenrir leads the pack around, whichever room he walks into, and the other two follow. The Doberman leads them upstairs, sniffing at the stairs and taking them slowly as they haven't had much practice with the incline. Not many places they go to have stairs, but Sam made sure they knew how to go up in case, training them as puppies.
Spencer explains what he wants to do to the rooms, asking for Sam's opinions and if he wants to change anything. They'll need to inform the property owner of any changes they want to make, to get his approval for now. Deciding he didn't want to paint or change anything about the house, Sam goes along with his boyfriends' plans for the rooms, seeing as it's needed and important for Spencer to have a workspace. The man gives a specific and detailed description of what he imagines the house will be like with the changes to the rooms and what they'll do, this merely makes Sam delighted and much more hyper in his elation.
As soon as he saw the house, Sam was firm in his decision to follow the man moving into it. He adores the house already, the coziness of the home even without furniture, and how it's the perfect size for this family. It's not too big where there will be empty spaces and not too tiny, they won't be squished together, but they'll have space if they need it. He can only picture how warm and homey it will feel with furniture, the big couches that will sit in the living room, the fluffy bed covered in pillows; the kitchen filled with cooking supplies with the scent of cooking dinner. The more he pictures, the more eager he becomes. Clinging to Spencer's arm as they watch the dogs explore the backyard and its boundaries, Sam curses himself for not thinking of bringing a toy or two to throw around and letting them play with that back there. They make do, wrestling and sniffing out new scents, tails wagging - in Orthrus's case, wagging his hips to make up for the nub of his tail.
Spencer had held him throughout the tour, either having his warm hand encase Sam's small and cold one or having his long arms curled around the boy. Sam doesn't mind, liking he is always kept close and filled with warmth. He gushes over the house, singing praise for finding it and being amazed the owner will accept larger breeds of dogs. If Sam had looked, he would've never thought this would be an option for his dogs. Spencer only smirks, kissing whatever patch of skin he can reach and saying how happy the man is that he would have them living with him.
