Charlie is normally hyper and supportive, gives rational advice, and cares deeply for his friends. This is why Sam trusts the man and goes to him in most of his situations involving humans, for good advice. Monday's plan to speak went sour when Charlie and Sam had different schedules, classes that lasted for longer took away a chance to properly speak. A few text messages here and there, updating each other on projects or classes they were in. Instead, they planned a facetime call for Tuesday morning, after coming back from the walk. Sam is desperate to talk to his friend about Spencer and get information on what he should do.

He doesn't want to be rude or risk a possible friendship, not when he surprisingly wants another friend. Just why he is reacting in such ways toward the man, he knows something may be wrong with him. Trusting too easily or being too intimidated, Sam just can't manage to argue and say no to Spencer. Whenever he tries, the man uses his size to scare Sam or plays with his mind. Fighting him seems impossible, using words to shut Sam down quickly and efficiently. Whenever Sam attempts to set boundaries, Spencer jumps over them with stern words or actions. Sam isn't aware of social normality, he is naive to the warnings and red flags he should be searching for. Hasn't been in situations where he was in danger, needed help, or even felt paranoid.

The student would like to imagine the world is happier and safer than it is in reality, he is aware it isn't rainbows and joyful humans. The news on his phone and laptop informs him of the horror that is capable of showing itself, he just hasn't experienced it. Spencer is the first male, human even, to show interest in him after Charlie. It was remarkably easy to create a friendly relationship with Charlie, the man led conversations and allowed Sam to open up at his own pace. Meeting for the first time in real life didn't feel awkward or forced, Charlie made certain to act the same towards Sam as he did on the internet. However, it didn't give Sam the experience he needed at meeting people.

He had months to know Charlie before physically meeting him, and was already used to the man. Meeting others first and trying to build much-needed trust and compatibility, he doesn't have skills or knowledge. He is hoping Charlie has advice that could help him figure out what he is doing, or give him ideas of what he could do about Spencer. Sam wants Charlie to tell him how to set boundaries and what to do if he is mentality overpowered by Spencer, he does want to have a friendship after all. Although, he is beginning to feel odd about Spencer. He is not overly sure what to do and that is becoming a thought of doubt of if he wants to be friends. Having another friend would be nice, Charlie is so far away and Sam admits it gets lonely sometimes. He would rather Charlie and he be roommates, just to make socializing easier and have that human company. Yet then he remembers he likes being alone, this turns into him fighting with himself over what he wants.

Being with Spencer is a new experience and on one hand, he likes the new company. On the other, he doesn't necessarily like it or how there seem to be no breaks besides sleep. Spencer doesn't appear to appreciate Sam's attempt at privacy or his arguments over if certain things are needed; waiting in the hallway and now calling him on the phone. It's odd, more so that Sam has never heard of this type of situation. In a movie, possibly.

However, in real life, this is not something he had imagined. He is considering giving up; if he can't figure out how a friendship or communicating with other humans works, then perhaps he isn't cut out for another one at the moment. He decides to let fate choose. Maybe, something will happen that will show him whether having another friend is worth the trouble. So far, he isn't sure. Charlie can help that, especially since he has been begging Sam to get out and make more friends.

It's good for other friends to approve of other people, right? In case they see something I don't. Sam considers while getting ready for the walk on Tuesday morning. I would think so. Charlie could see something bad in Spencer I wouldn't even notice. It's good to have a second opinion. He pauses, head tilting. Or is that only for medical reasons? Sam shakes his head, deciding to focus on getting ready.
