[3RD PERSON POV]

As class ended, both boys said a quick goodbye and went their separate ways, their lockers being on the opposite sides of the school. School ends at 3 but this was going to be the longest hour of Luke's life. Not for Ashton though.

Ashton quickly hopped into his car and drove to his sibling's school. Lauren and Harry were both feeling perfectly fine so they went to school. They had their classic "tell me about your day" session where Ashton encourages them to share in 20 words their favourite parts of their days. He loved doing this because he doesn't have time to do much once they get home. Both of his siblings usually take at least 150 words each, but he doesn't mind. If they have more to say, once they get inside, they drop everything in front of the door and continue in the living room. Both kids have a maximum of 10 minutes each so if one kid is talking in the car for the entire time, once they get home it's the other's turn. It may seem harsh but it's better than not asking about how their days went.

Though he doesn't always have time, he makes sure to let them know that if bad stuff, or really important stuff, or good stuff, or anything really, happens, that they can talk to him and he will almost drop whatever he's doing for them.

But today, both Lauren and Harry didn't have much to say but they both were happy to be back at school and said their friends missed them. Ashton thought it was really sweet.

Once they got home, Ashton told his siblings that he'll be out studying at the park with a friend as he made them an after school snack. While they were eating, he threw together 2 small boxes with a few chicken nuggets and some veggies, one bright pink for Lauren, and one with cars on it for Harry, they both picked those out when they went to a store a while back. The kids know how to work the microwave and Ashton just told them that's what they'll have for dinner. This isn't something Ashton does a lot but he does it when needed. It's not that bad but he still feels guilty for not being there whenever he leaves. But he needs to study so that's what he'll do.

Both of his siblings are always okay with it and understand what to do, they won't burn down the house when he's gone, at least they haven't yet.

Ashton packed up his bag and told his siblings that he'd be back in a few hours and to call him if anything happens. He always says that they can call him if needed because he knows it makes them calmer, himself included.

They said their goodbyes and Ashton left the house, locking the door behind him. He went into his car and off to the park he went.

There was an unsettling feeling in his stomach but he didn't know why. He was excited but nervous. It would be more private with Luke and as much as he wanted to be closer to the boy, he was scared. Everyone just wants to get into his pants so meeting with someone was out of the question. But Luke wouldn't want to cause him any harm, right? Besides, they're just going to study, it's going to be fine.

Just breathe, chill Ash. It's just Luke, your classmate from Chemistry, he told himself.
