CHAPTER 12

Kinabukasan ay madali kaming gumising ng maaga at unang sumakay sa bangkang dumating. Gigil na gigil nang umuwi si Altheria dahil may trabaho pa daw siya habang gusto pang magbakasyon ni Hester.

Taliya has her new schedule ahead of her for the whole month, while I need to go back to office because I seriously need to go back to work.

And just like that, vacation in Zambales feels like a dream. Balik na ulit sa realidad.

But it bothers me.

So much.

Mula pagkagising niya sa isla hanggang sa ihatid ko siya sa condo niya sa Rockwell, ramdam na ramdam ko ang pag-iwas niya sa akin. She's so civil that it feels so strange.

"Nag-away kayo?" bato agad ng kapatid ko pagkababa ni Taliya sa sasakyan.

Alam kong naramdaman din nila ang pader sa pagitan namin mula pa kanina.

"I wonder what's going on too..." bulong ko sa kawalan at muling nagmaneho.

"What? Hindi mo alam kung anong nangyayari? Ano ba ginawa niyo kagabi?" Hester intrigued.

I shrugged my shoulders and kept my mouth shut. Pero dahil sa katahimikan ko ay mas lalong naintriga sila Hester. Halos dumugo ang tainga ko sa kakatanong nila kung ano bang nangyari kagabi.

I acted as if it didn't bother me but I am already losing my mind thinking what the hell happened last night that made her upset.

Did I say something wrong?

Around Makati lang din naman ang tinutuluyan ng dalawa kaya naman hinatid ko na sila roon. Hindi na rin ako umuwi sa condo at dumiretso na sa opisina. Right after I arrived at the firm, the meeting for lines of new project proposal proceeded.

It need to be finalized today whether we will accept these projects or not.

I listened to the objectives and themes of the proposals. The one project reminds me of Artemis and her proposal for her thesis back in college. Most of her designs are nature friendly, and it honestly became her signature for me that whenever I see projects related to nature, it always reminds me of her.

Some of these project proposals are not entirely familiar, some sides are new to me and I am very interested to its objectives and concepts.

Just some parts are reminding me of her... silly me.

Due to the majority of the votes and considering the long-term plan, we decided to accept the Watch Tower Park project. We mostly focused on real estate projects since that is our expertise, but this one's an interesting project considering its design and costs.

It could be a good tourist spot in my hometown, Zenithal. A watch tower in Zenithal will expand the poetic meaning of the town's name as well as its reputation.

It is going to be a park, but the highlight of the park is the watch tower.

"Zenith means the time at which something is most powerful or successful. In astronomy, it means the highest point or level reached by a celestial body." Sheenly Gabuay, the architect who created the entire design, explained

"It simply means the highest point directly above an observer on the earth." I added, which the architect agreed on.

It's impressive, enough. But not surprising, since we're both from Zenithal and graduated in MLA.

"Zenith could be the watch tower in the highest town in the country: Zenithal. It represents the point where the town is at its highest. It represents the time and place of success. But the very concept of this watch tower is a reminder that time is not ours."
