36. I love you.

The only thing i can feel is pain. Blood drops down my body, george laughs. "I warned you lando." he whispers in my ear as he slowly pulls out the knive. I drop down to my knees, i cough blood. Before my sight goes dark, I see carlos storm in with police officers. „HANDS UP!" One police officer shouts and points the gun at george. He drops the knive down. Carlos picks me up „you'll be fine lando, you'll be fine." he whispers and carries me up to the ambulance. He's sitting next to me in the ambulance. He has tears in his eyes while looking down to me, i place my hand on his face. „I love you carlos." i whisper. My sight goes dark, the last thing I see is carlos beautiful face.

When i open my eyes again i am in the hospital, carlos asleep with his head on my lap holding my hand. I am still alive? Or am i just dreaming again?
I look arround the Hospital room. I whisper to carlos „am i alive?" He wakes up and looks up to me. „Oh my god you're awake!" he says and pulls me into a hug. „We nearly lost you lando. Oh god i love you so much." he says. He leans in to kiss me. „I love you too carlos." i say after the kiss. „You'll be fine soon, you got operated. Now you only need to rest for a bit and everything is going to be okay." he says and i nod. „I missed you so much lando." he says and i smile. „I missed you too." he looks at me a bit seriously. „When we're back home, you're going to see a therapist every week, she will help you cope with your trauma." he says and i nod. It's for the best.

Some weeks pass

I feel much better. You can still see the scar on my stomach but it doesn't hurt anymore. Carlos was there for me all along. He stopped racing for a while to be there for me. I can already walk by myself. I just can't race for a little while and that's alright. Thankfully George will be in jail for the rest of his life.

Carlos has already been gone since the morning he said he is planning a suprise for me, i am curious what it is. It's already getting late when i hear a knock on the front door. I slowly get up from the couch. I doesn't hurt anymore as much to walk but it still does a bit. I make my way to the door and open it. I see max stand infront. „Hey max, where is carlos?" i ask him. „I will take you to him." max says. „Get in the car." i nod and we drive of. He drives us to the beach „i have to blindfold you for the suprise." max says. „Alright." i answer him, he puts it on me and we get out of the car, we walk for a bit and we get on something, i think it's a boat? „Where are we going" i ask max „it's a suprise lando i can't tell you" he says laughing „alright alright" i say with a smile after 20 minutes we arrive, he helps me out of the boat. „When can i finally take off the blindfold?"' I ask max while he leads me somewhere.

Max slowly takes off the blindfold and steps back. My eyes widen when I see carlos under the beautiful tree surrounded by candles and roses. I slowly walk to him. „This little island is really special for me, it's the place we decided to be forever together." he says as he takes my hands. „I want us to live here." he says and my eyes light up. „Oh my god, really?" i say happy. „Of course. Anything for you lando." I jump in his arms and give him a kiss.

After some weeks have passed, we already got all our things into the new house. It's beautiful, we had our wedding night here. Carlos and me always sit on our beach at night and look at the beautiful stars. I know we are also here because it's safer, carlos is afraid that it will happen again.

I wake up in the middle of the night, carlos is not by my side and i sit up. I leave our bedroom to look for him and see him sit on the terrace. I open the door and he turns to look at me. „Why are you up so late carlos? Is Everything okay." i ask him but he only nods. I sit down next to him and put my hand on his thigh „carlos tell me what's wrong." i say and he looks at me. „Lando I nearly lost you." he says and i look down on the floor. „but you didn't carlos I am right here." i say. „But it's all my fault lando, i should have informed the police when he first layed his hand on you." he answers. „Carlos it's not your fault. I told you, that you shouldn't inform the police, it would've only caused drama." i tell him but he shakes his head, he places his hand on top of mine. „I'm so sorry lando." he says. „What would've happend if i came in a few minutes later? You would've died lando. I can't live without you." he mumbles and i pull him into a hug. „It's all in the past carlos, i am here. I am alive. we should focus on the future." i say and he nods. „It's not your fault." i repeat and he leans in for a kiss. „I love you so much lando, i can't describe it. Thank god you're alive."
I smile and place my hand on his cheek. „We will always be together carlos." i say as i look deep into his dark brown eyes.
