"let's go see binnie mom," yeonjun eagerly shook his sleepy mother. it was hard for the both of them to sleep the previous night after everything that happened. but yeonjun was now fully awake and after he got ready he went to get his mother up.

"mmh~ okay, let me get ready then we can go see my future son-in-law," even though it was early on a saturday morning she always knew how to tease her son. yeonjun could feel blood rush to his ears and he covered them and his face from suddenly feeing shy.

"s-stop, just go have breakfast then we can go. i want to give him his gift, it's still his birthday." he helped his mother up and gave her her dressing gown as the winter atmosphere was very cold and yeonjun cared so much for his mother, so he didn't want her to get ill.

she giggled at his immature behaviour before getting up with the help of yeonjun and made her way downstairs before cooking up herself some breakfast.

"happy birthday to you~ happy birthday to you~ happy birthday dear soobin~ happy birthday to you~" they both sang in harmony but not very loud to keep the hospital environment calm and light.

yeonjun leaned down to leave a loving kiss on the sleeping boy's forehead.
"please wake up soon," yeonjun whispered, then he reached into his pocket to pull out a small rectangular box. "i-i have your present binnie, i- umm, i hope you like it." he gulped before opening the box, revealing a silver bracelet, with a small charm in the shape of a heart on it.

"awww, my old heart is going to explode this is so cute." his mother smiled while covering her mouth.

"if only he was awake to see it," yeonjun frowned slightly, while putting the bracelet on soobin's lifeless wrist.

"yeonjun, it's okay, he will wake up soon and when he does i know he will love it." she hugged her son, placing a kiss on his cheek. yeonjun smiled at his mother.
"thank you mom," yeonjun replied.

yeonjun didn't realise the few tears that trickled down his face, he missed soobin, even though he was right there in-front of him, he still felt like he was so far away.

suddenly, the door to the room was opened, both their heads turned to the right to see who had entered.

yeonjun's heart dropped at the sight of the woman, it was soobin's mother. she was still in the same black dress from yesterday, her hair was messy, mascara was running down her face. she looked...terrible. something had definitely happened after the accident yesterday, yeonjun's body crawled with a sudden rush of fear. something was wrong, he didn't know what and he didn't know if he wanted to find out.

"s-soobin?" the woman called when looking at the bed with soobin laying in. yeonjun protectively stood in-front of soobin's bed.

"what are you doing here?" yeonjun interrogated, while trying to sound scary.

"i came to see him. a-and to apologise," her head was still fixated on her son, yeonjun felt uneasy and didn't know if he should trust her.

"yeonjun, who is this?" his mother asked. she could sense something was off.
"this is soobin's mom," yeonjun whispered.

"look, i know, i messed up. you have every right to hate me, for what i did to him. b-but i- i was scared. h-he, that man, my-my husband, he wasn't just abusing soobin, but al-also me. when i started to take his side, he wouldn't hurt me as much." tears and tears poured out of her like a waterfall, she was broken but yeonjun was still skeptical.

"but what about soobin?!" yeonjun exclaimed.

"i-i was selfish, but he would also force me to take drugs and drink alcohol, i had no control over my actions." she sobbed but with each word she eventually got closer and closer. yeonjun automatically moved to the side so she could return to her son.

"m-my beautiful son, i-i'm so sorry," she apologized, while placing her hand on the sleeping boy's cheek, she seemed sincere. yeonjun just watched before the woman looked at him.

"please look after him, he deserves love, i could never give it to him. but i know you can." she smiled while holding both his hands.

she then rummaged through her bag for something, "and this is for you," she pulled out a piece of paper that was crumbled up but when she unravelled it, to revealed a note in soobin's writing. "it's from soobin."

yeonjun took the note and read it,

Dear Yeonjun,
I am so sorry that it had to end this way. I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have done for me, you stuck by me, you did everything in your power to make me happy. Even though you knew about the shit I go through at home. You make me want to live Yeonjun, you really do.

When I see you, my heart feels like it could explode with joy, I love your smile, your laugh, your face, your heart, I love everything about you. I love you Yeonjun. But I know that you don't love me back, you've only stuck around for so long because you pity me, so that's why I plan on ending our suffering. You don't have to worry and care about me anymore, you can let me go.

I just can't take it any longer, I can't live like this. I've been holding my breath my whole life, I need to exhale.

I need an ending, I need to breath.

Goodbye Yeonjun, I hope to meet you in another life, maybe a more fortunate one.

yeonjun couldn't believe, "h-he loves me too!" yeonjun was shocked to say the least, his dreams had come true, soobin felt the same way as him.
