"Hey- wake up..we have to go. Hope?"

Hope shifted on the bed not really wanting to open her eyes but Josie insisted to wake her up so she had no choice.

"Oh, shoot. Sorry did I fall asleep?"

"Yeah you've been sleeping for about an hour. Either my voice is boring or you don't actually like Agatha Christie."

"Neither, I was just exhausted from this morning. What time is it?"

"It's time for the movie. Do you know where the movie theater is?"

"Yeah I do. Come on I will show you."

Hope fixed her hair back in place in the mirror and then go out of the tent with Josie walking next to her quietly, her hands almost bumping into Hopes which made her look at Josie with a sweet smile.

"What?"

"I don't know why you're so nice to me, unlike to my sister."

"Because she actually believes I'm the devil?"

Josie laughed and looked away from Hope's intense blue eyes, there was something drawing her to the girl and her quirky ways but she didn't want to admit it to herself just yet.

"We are here. And I'm off..I promised Landon I will sit with him. Apparently he has a thing for me."

"Oh, lucky him. Just don't scare him too much."

Hope smiled and spotted where Landon was sitting on some comfortable lounge chairs on the grass and sat on the one next to him. Landon immediately smiled and greeted her by offering his popcorn.

"This whole camp thing is not so bad after all. We are even allowed to watch scary movies."

"Thanks. It must be your first time here then?"

"Yeah, to be honest I have no one to stay with over the summer. My foster family is traveling around a lot and they decided it was better if I was somewhere where I could make friends instead of traveling with them like every year."

"Foster family?"

"Yeah, both of my parents are gone so.."

Hope widened her eyes and looked at the screen quietly as the movie was starring, eating some of Landon's popcorn.

"Well, thanks for sharing that with me."

"It's alright, I can handle it now it doesn't really bother me. I can get you your own popcorn if you'd like."

"I'd rather eat yours." Hope looked at the boy with a little smirk on her lips and Landon found himself smiling at her.

During the movie the two of them teased and scared each other at different moments, Landon loved the way Hope was so jumpy and then got really grumpy when he scared her. Another person was looking at them in quite a nostalgic way, and it was no one but Josie. The girl watched closely how Hope laughed, and how her smile was bright even in the darkness. She loved the way her eyes became really small when she laughed and wish she could tell her just how beautiful she thought she was.

During one of the breaks Josie went over to the counter to her some popcorn for herself and just then Penelope came up to her.

"You know if you need a cuddle buddy for the movie I am available."

"Uh, thanks but I'm not scared."

"Come on, Josie. I am simply implying I want to spend some time with you."

"Alright I guess we can sit and watch it together."

"Is cuddling going to be involved then?"

"Uhh.."

Just then someone threw her arm over Josie's shoulder interrupting the awkward conversation between the two.

"You know if you don't break up your sister from that blonde guy she will most likely end up pregnant by the end of camp. They haven't stopped making out during the movie."

"Hello to you too, Mikaelson." Penelope said angrily.

"That's not really my problem, Hope. I can't control what she does."

"Are you seriously going to leave me on my own to deal with this? I'm not ready to die yet."

Josie laughed at Hope's comment and shook her head, excusing herself from Penelope and walking away.

"Fine I'm coming." The both of them walked together with Hope still holding Josie under her arm. "Did you actually care about stopping my sister or?"

"Nope, I just thought you looked uncomfortable there." Hope smiled innocently.

"How's you and Landon coming along?"

"Good, he's a sweetheart. Which is both good and bad."

"Why is it bad?"

"Because I will most likely end up breaking his heart."

"You sound certain about that."

"Yeah, well you don't know me well enough Josie. If you did, you'd agree with me. Landon is too good for me."

"Alright, but still if you end up getting with him don't forget all about me."

"How could I? You're already my favourite."

Josie smiled shyly and found herself speechless but then the movie started back up and the girls parted ways. Penelope was now waiting for Josie and they both settled down together to watch the rest of the film.

When the film was over everyone headed back to their quarters for their sleep. Josie waited for Hope to turn up but the girl didn't appear so she assumed she was somewhere hitting it off with Landon and sighed. In fact, Hope was actually with Landon having a walk through the forest and chatting about their lives.

"So I was curious about yesterday. You seemed quite upset when Penelope said you were an only child. Is there a reason for that?"

"Are you sure you can handle the answer to that?"

"Honestly, with my history I can handle everything Hope."

"I've lost both of my siblings in a fire, my father too." Hope said in a rather weak voice and Landon stopped in his tracks.

"I am terribly sorry about that. We have a lot more in common than what I thought."

"So I'm not really a spoiled only child. Quite the opposite. I've had to fight my whole life to support my mother emotionally."

"So you're putting on this strong side of you to keep others from finding out how damaged you are?"

"I guess you know my secret now."

Landon turned to face the girl and took a gentle hold of her warm hands, looking down into her blue eyes who were begging to be loved and understood.

"And your secret is safe with me, Hope Mikaelson."
