"Stand down, MG!"
Lizzie begged and the boys had no choice but to step away seeing how Hope was standing in the middle and glaring at them quite bravely. MG walked away and Hope caught up with him and walked by his side.
"So you and Lizz have a certain history.."
"Yeah we do, and this guy has no right running his mouth like that! Just because he's older than us he thinks he entitled to her."
"Are you sure it's just him that's bothering you?"
"Yeah, what else is there?"
Hope stopped in her tracks and turned to face the boy crossing her arms, she quite clearly had caught onto his feelings about a certain blonde.
"So you're not bothered by the fact that Lizzie is getting with him? And that this friendship of yours is in no way romantically involved..?"
MG stopped in his tracks and released a long sigh, he wasn't anticipating to talk about his feelings, especially to Hope out of all people, but something inside him was bothering him greatly.
"I would lie if I said I never felt anything for her, but I've always been just a friend to her and I don't want to risk losing that friendship over a stupid crush."
"It's not just a crush when you'd do anything to see that person happy even if it means that they are happy without you. MG, that tells me this is way more than just a stupid crush."
"Hope --.."
MG got a hold of Hope's arm and pulled her further away from the rest of the campers, afraid that his secret would get out.
"I've tried putting myself forward but there's always someone else present in her life and she always choses them over me."
"Well, that's one damn stupid blonde if you'd ask me."
"Hey, stop with that potty mouth of yours. And also, I am begging you don't tell Lizzie any of this. I've tried to hide it for the longest time and..--"
"Don't worry, I'm not the type to run around and spill people's business unlike Penelope."
"And there it is. Seems like that girl gets on your nerves more than the twin ever does."
"Honestly you're right. But we are not talking about me. Anyway, I've got stuff to do.."
Hope turned to leave but MG grabbed her hand again and held her for a brief moment.
"A secret for a secret?"
"What do you want to know?"
"I saw you sneaking away with Josie earlier. And I know how Penelope is going after her, she'll probably have her by the end of this camp if you don't act fast."
