As the jeeps approached the camp the weather there was more settled and everyone was happy to be back to their temporary home where they had water for proper showers and fresh food. As most of the activities got cancelled because of the rain the campers enjoyed a calm morning of self care and rest.
Hope entered her tent after her long hot shower and found Josie sitting on her bed and reading one of her books. She walked over to her quietly and sat at the edge of her bed.
"You haven't said a word to me on our way back.."
"Well, what is there to talk about.."
"A lot, actually."
Hope closed Josie's book who was still pretending to read and not bother with her presence at all. Hope knew when Josie got like that it meant she was pissed off about something.
"Enlighten me then."
Josie looked up into the blue eyes that were starring at her and felt a tiny bit of intimidation.
"First of all, I feel like you're giving me a bit of an attitude and I don't know if I've done something to annoy you.."
"You haven't. I'm just..trying not to stress over Lizzie and Sebastian. When we left the mountain top the weather was coming off pretty bad."
Hope scooted a bit closer to the girl and placed her book aside.
"Listen, he will be fine. If not I'm sure they will go and get him with one of the cars. And now, the real reason you're so distant."
"Hope.."
Josie grabbed her book and opened it again, leaning back against the wooden frame of the bed.
"I am not distant and you're interrupting my reading time."
Hope snatched the book out of Josie's hands who was now seemingly annoyed, and held it behind her back. Josie went for it but the auburn was clearly not having it with her.
"Talk or else you're not getting this back.."
"Ugh, I hate you sometimes.." Josie muttered and looked away while sinking down in her bed.
"Join the list." Hope placed the book on Josie's bedside cabinet and threw herself on the empty space next to the other girl, resting her head on her hand while looking down at grumpy Josie. "Still waiting.."
"Fine. It just makes me wonder why you told me to be careful with Penelope and it was quite obvious you felt something when we kissed yesterday and this morning I see Landon coming out of your tent which means you probably had sex with him too..it just doesn't make sense. You don't make sense, Hope."
