Hope and Rafael searched the forest for their friend, shouting his name in panic. Soon enough they found him hiding under some gigantic rocks and helped him up.

"We need to take you to a doctor!"

"No, not Dr Saltzman!"

"Why not?" Rafael asked confused.

"Lizzie is his daughter..how do you think he will feel when he finds out I've been sneaking out with her and I failed to protect her against a bear?"

"God..boys and their ego!!"

"Hope he doesn't look that bad. Is there a way you can treat him in my tent?"

"Yeah, I can try..let's take him back. However you still need to see a real doctor tomorrow. Just say you got it through sports or something."

After arriving at Rafael's tent Hope send the boy to steal some first aid supplies and used them to clean and patch up MG's wound, which was rather small.

"Thanks Hope, I owe you big time for this. I'm going to check up on Lizzie hopefully she's back by now."

When Hope and Rafael were left alone, she turned to him and grabbed his arm examining his scratch up close. She remembered how the bear barely missed him while running away.

"You're hurt too."

Rafael looked down at the girl for a moment and their eyes met. He suddenly pulled his hand away and carried on gathering the medical supplies and cleaning his bed unbothered by his injury.

"I'll be fine, it's a minor scratch."

"Made by a grizzly bear out of all things!"

Hope stepped up and snatched the medical supplies out of his hands, then used her free hand to push him down on the bed behind them.

"I'm having a look at this whether you like it or not. It could have been me if it wasn't for you today."

Hope found the boy sitting down and obeying her request but he seemed unusually awkward and quiet with the way she was touching his arm and applying some kind of cream over the wound.

"This is going to help you heal faster and it's going to kill any bacteria or germs that got into your skin."

"You seem to know your stuff."

"Spent six years in scouts. That's basically most of my summers and I've learnt a lot."

"So do you have any other talents you're hiding from me Hope Mikaelson?"

"Yeah. Breaking hearts. But better not try that one."

Hope said with an attractive smile while hitting Rafael's thigh playfully and standing up.

"I better go now.."

Before the auburn was about to turn away Rafael grabbed her arm and pulled her closer to him, their faces were only inches away.

"What if I'm willing to put my heart on the line?"

"I would advice you not to do that. And someone else would agree with me."

The girl looked up intensively into his eyes, and Rafael could notice all the small shades of blue inside Hope's gaze that could make you fall in love in a heartbeat.

"Landon, right? He has a thing for you doesn't he?"

"Wouldn't you want to break his heart."

"You're just as guilty, Hope."

"Me? Trust me. This is me behaving."

Hope managed to pull away and walked slowly towards the door but before she opened it Rafael spoke up again.

"I've seen the way you look at me, Hope."

"And?"

Hope lingered at the door, avoiding to look back at the boy who had her figured out. Maybe her eyes revealed too much. Or maybe he figured she found him attractive from all the attention she had been paying to him ever since they met.

"You want me."

The girl scoffed and opened the door, trying not to give away the simple fact that he was right. She decided to take a long walk to clear her head from unnecessary thoughts involving Rafael and then returned to her tent as it was almost time for lights out.

She laid on her bed looking at the ceiling for at least an hour, and then wished she could talk to Josie who was still not in and her bed looked empty. Hope sighed, she didn't really feel like talking to her other roommates so she decided to borrow one of Josie's books and settled down on her bed, laying on her stomach and reading for what seemed like hours. After skimming through hundreds of pages Hope's eyes were naturally tired and her eyelids closed, she fell asleep on Josie's bed until early in the morning when Josie came through.

"What.." Josie sat down at the edge of her bed and lightly shook Hope by her shoulder "What are you doing on my bed?"

"Mhmm, sorry Jo..."

"It's fine, but can you go back now?"

"W..What time is it.." a sleepy Hope cracked her eyes open and looked up at Josie who looked seriously tired.

"Almost 5am...I need some rest before the god damn alarm goes off."

"Where the hell have you been.."

"Hope I'll talk to you later yeah?"

Josie took a hold of both of Hope's hands and gently dragged her off her bed.

"Come on, sleepy head."

The auburn slouched her way to her own bed and honestly Josie found the way her face was scrunching up because of the light extremely cute.

"Sleep tight, pumpkin."

Hope murmured from her bed and found Josie laughing quietly. Later that morning when the alarm did go off all the roommates got up except Josie who hadn't slept much at all last night. After Hope got ready for the day she slouched over Josie's bed and tried to whisper to her.

"It's time, Jo. You need to get up."

"I need more rest..I barely slept because of my sister..just tell them I have a sore tummy or something.."

"Okay, got it. I'll cover for you."

"Thanks.."

Hope left a small kiss on the girl's forehead and headed towards the cafeteria for breakfast, and when Landon saw her he put his hand up so she could join him but Hope took her tray and completely ignored his signal while sitting down next to Caleb and MG.

"So, is it true what I heard about a bear attack??" Caleb whispered.

"Apparently they don't want the campers to know or else they will freak out and the parents will remove all the children." MG explained as he had heard from Lizzie who overheard her father.

"That's just plain stupid. Whoever's making those decisions they really need to quit their job."

"I know, Lizzie said her father didn't agree and he had an argument with the head. He feels like parents should know what happens to their children."

"Anyway how's the blonde doing with her injury?" Hope asked.

"She was in pain all night but I left Josie with her, I couldn't handle seeing her like that to be honest."

"Oh that's why she didn't return last night. Honestly if it wasn't for Rafael I'd probably be in the same place as her."

Hope looked over at Rafael who was now sitting with Landon, with a rather melancholic look over her face. The boys spotted her looking their way and Raf nudged Landon's arm whispering something in his ear.

"What's up with you and her?"

"I don't know. First she kisses me and now she's acting like I don't exist. I can't think of why, is it something I did or said.."

"I don't think it has to do with you."
