Landon picked up his confidence and took a gentle hold of Hope's hand, walking towards the forest and when they got there he leaned against a tree. He was now playing with his plaid shirt nervously.

"Everything alright, Landon?"

"Yeah I just tend to..overthink. But what I'm trying to say is I know we don't know each other for very long but..when I saw how you helped those children today I realized how special you are."

"No one has said that to me before."

"And also, I want you to know I would do it again. What I did today. Saving you.."

The curly boy finally picked up his gaze and looked into the intimidating blue eyes.

"That is very thoughtful of you but honestly I don't want you to do it again. I can't risk anymore lives."

"Is this about losing your family?"

Hope looked away feeling her eyes sting when the matter came up.

"Yeah. And I can't risk losing you too."

Landon reached out for her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, making Hope face him.

"I promise you I'm not going anywhere. And I will always look out for you Hope"

Hope started into the boy's eyes deeply, feeling a comforting sense of security through his words. She felt as if thanking him with words wouldn't be enough in this occasion. So she slowly leaned in towards his body, with eyes glancing down his dry lips. Before he realized Hope was kissing him, and her sweet taste was now in his mouth, and her soft hands were touching his cheeks. He was too stunned to even breathe and slowly moved his lips along to kiss her back. It was almost like a dream. Somewhere in the distance, Josie spotted the two kissing with eyes widened and her jaw almost dropped.

She felt an unexplained sense of jealously, but she simply couldn't convince herself she had a thing for the auburn girl with the blue stunning eyes.

"Hey, Josie is it? Have you seen your sister? She hasn't showed up yet."

"Hm, who's asking?"

"I'm Sebastian, I'm assuming she has talked to you about me?"

"Oh, you're the guy she's constantly making out with. Honestly you could have waited a few more days before completing sweeping Lizzie off her feet."

"Well, I felt like you were going to judge me. The thing is, there is something about Lizzie that I just can't..resist."

"How old are you, Sebastian?"

"Does it really matter?"

"It does..you seem old enough to respect my sister and not do anything stupid."

"Right if I needed a lecture I wouldn't have asked you Josie."

"Sorry I'm a bit on edge tonight.."

"Why? Did something happen to you?"

"Landon happend.." Josie grumbled under her breathe but Sebastian didn't quite catch it.

"If you're not in the mood to talk let me at least get you a drink. We can get to know each other. I'm not as bad as you think I am for your sister."

"Prove that then. Prince charming."

Sebastian bowed to the girl playfully and headed towards the food table to pour drinks for them while Hope and Landon made it back to the bonfire. Hope spotted Josie alone and walked up to her with a giddy smile.

"Who was that guy you were talking to?"

"My sister's boyfriend." Josie crossed her arms over her chest and looked across the distance.

"She has a boyfriend already? Did they meet here?"

"Yeah, why is that a problem?"

Hope raised an eyebrow and looked over at Josie who seemed unbothered.

"I wasn't trying to offend your sister, if that's what you are hinting."

"Whatever Hope." Josie walked off and found Sebastian again leaving Hope wonder why the girl was giving her attitude all of a sudden.

"You know I have a bad feeling. Your sister was really looking forward to the bonfire." Sebastian handed Josie a drink.

"She's probably taking a long time to get ready, you know how she likes her make up. Calm down."

"I guess I'm overthinking it."

The night went on and all the campers enjoyed grilling food in the fire and bantering. Josie didn't see her sister even after it was almost midnight and decided to go to her tent and look for her, Hope spotted Josie leaving by herself and decided to follow her. Josie found an empty tent, and noticed that her sister's bracelet was on the deck of their porch which only meant she was somewhere around here. She picked it up and ran a hand through her hair thinking where her sister could be, then she heard a faint footstep that startled her.

"Shit. What on earth Hope? You scared me."

"What are you doing exactly?"

"I'm looking for Lizzie, what does it look like?"

"She's probably sneaked out with someone in the forest."

"I don't think so. I mean..she's head over heels for Sebastian and there isn't anyone else--"

"Or maybe there is and you just don't know it."

"Hope! I'm telling you she isn't!"

At that moment, a loud scream was heard from the forest and the voice was all too familiar to Josie. It was her sister screaming and it sounded like she was in distress. Josie and Hope were the first ones to run towards the forest and Rafael with Landon decided to follow the sound, seeing that there was no sign of Hope anywhere and that scared them.

When the girls reached the spot where the sound came from they found Lizzie on the floor with a huge bite mark on her thigh and blood gushing through.

"Oh my goodness! What the hell happened Liz??" Josie kneeled down and pulled her sister into her arms, Lizzie looked like she was in severe pain.

"Bear...guys.. there is a bear. You need to run!!!"

"Were you alone??" Hope asked while looking around in fear.

"N-No. I was with MG..he tried to scare away the bear.."

"Shit. Josie take your sister back! I will go find MG.."

"Hope no!! I'm not leaving you by yourself."

"You need to take your sister away. Right now Josie. Go."

Josie tried to pick up her sister who was now limbing because of her injury and tried to walk back while Hope scanned the forest looking for MG.

"Hey Landon, we have to split up to cover more ground. You go that way and I'll take the left. Meet you back here in ten."

Rafael started running towards where Hope was although he didn't know it yet. The girl was carefully stepping through the darkness and quietly calling out MG's name in case the bear was close, and the beast was indeed lurking just next to the unaware girl. Hope took another step and just then the bear appeared through the bush, making the auburn freeze and hold her breath knowing her life was now in great danger. She heard a faint voice groaning and she knew MG was somewhere close and he was probably injured as well. Hope couldn't risk fighting the bear and getting injured too.

Luckily, Rafael's sudden appearance scared the bear away who ran towards the tall boy, barely scratching his arm while he used it to protect Hope.

"Holy fuck..was that a.."

"Grizzly bear..yes. We're in the forest so stray far enough and you'll find that we're not the only ones living here."

"Are you okay? It did not attack you did it?"

"No but Josie's sister was bitten and MG is somewhere around here. We need to find him asap!!"
