The next morning everyone had to attend their self defence class and today's lesson was all about learning what to do if you were tied up in a scenario. The teacher had brought out ropes and requested that everyone found a partner, tied them up and then watched the several techniques of how to escape. Hope was the one to approach Rafael this time and extended her hand out to him holding the rope.

"Tie me up."

The boy hesitated and Hope insisted with her request.

"Today?"

"Alright, but don't expect me to go easy on ya today."

"Better."

Rafael took the rope and walked behind the girl tying up her hands behind her back as tightly as he could, Hope starting to feel quite restrained at this point.

"Does it hurt? Is it too tight?"

Rafael said in a concerned voice and Hope looked up at him with a vicious smile.

"I enjoy a bit of a pain."

Rafael watched how Hope struggled as she tried to follow the techniques and offered to help her but she just shoot him away with her glare.

"Don't. I've got this."

For the next ten minutes only several campers had freed themselves from the rope which was quite hard to break out of and finally Hope managed to do it herself, feeling rather proud and throwing the rope at Rafael who was impressed with her effort.

"Your turn, big guy."

Hope went around him and tied his hands as tightly as she could, with the boy smiling proudly feeling quite confident that he could escape under the ten minute frame but what he didn't know was that Hope had performed an impossible knot behind his back that she learned during her scout years. Time went on and Rafael tried all the techniques he had been shown but it was near impossible to break free, he almost started sweating at this point while Hope was looking at him with arms crossed and a very cocky smile.

"I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong here."

"Keep trying, this is fun to watch." Hope giggled quietly.

Landon who was already free from his restrain happened to pass by them on his way off and stopped in his tracks, feeling a sense of envy inside him while watching Hope torture his best friend.

"Come on man, it can't be that tight."

"I swear I've tried everything he showed us but it's not working."

Landon walked across and behind his friends back spotting what the problem was and then looking at Hope who was laughing her ass off.

"I told ya. Careful what you wish for."

The girl walked away confidently leaving Landon undo Rafael's knot behind his back.

"She's quite the trouble, isn't she?"

"Why is something telling me you like her?"

"It would be a lie if I said I didn't. She's just.. unapologetically her. And the more I get to know her the more complex her personality is."

Rafael was finally free from the rope, and smacked Landon's back gently thanking him as they walked off together.

"Good luck then. You'll surely need it with her."

----

After their physical excersise it was said that there would be an American Football game towards the lake side and anyone was free to join with the majority of the student signing up for it, and Hope was definitely on that list. She wanted to keep herself as busy as she could because that was one of her ways that helped her cope with all her complex thinking, also she was quite competitive so she never missed a chance to show off her skills.

Hope walked over to her assigned team and recognized some of the people already and Rafael was one of them, as it was expected since he was quite fit and into sports. Both Landon and Josie decided to stay off and instead watch the game from the designated area. Some people on the yellow team were already arguing over leadership.

"No, I've got more years experience in sports than you and I've been leading my football team for two years now!"

"That doesn't matter here. Everyone deserves a chance to be a captain and I.."

"Come on guys, drop it already we need to talk about the game plan!"

Hope stepped in between them and looked at her teammates with a determined look.

"If none of you can agree, I will be the captain. End of the story. And the game plan is as follows. On the first round we will go on the defence just to see who their strong players are and who we need to watch out for. Second round will be our turn to attack and the stronger guys will take down their good players, girls you keep passing the ball around to divide them and whoever gets closer to the goal will score for our team."

"That sounds like a damn good plan." Rafael said with a smile and the two boys crossed their arms, feeling defeated.

"You're born a leader." Rafael gently nudged Hope's arm and they were off to the field, everyone taking their position and getting ready to catch the ball. At the whistle, Hope's plan was afoot and it was clear that the other team had no strategy whatsoever. Yellow team easily spotted the strongest links of the blue team so in the second round their boys went after them and blocked them leaving the girls to deceive the remaining players and finally Hope led the ball to the terminal scoring the points.

Josie cheered unexpectedly and her sister stopped in front of her trying to catch her breath from running around the field.

"Seriously you're cheering for her?"

"You gotta admit she's good at this.

"Ugh, is there anything she's not good at!"

Lizzie went off and back in her position this time standing across Hope and glaring at her.

"I'm watching you, Mikaelson."

"Catch me if you can."

At the whistle the girls ran like their life depended on it and Hope had possession of the ball. She managed to slip past Lizzie but Penelope ran after her and managed to tackle her on the ground making her lose the ball and scrap part of her elbow which was now bleeding.

"Fuck!"

"Promise that wasn't on purpose. Or was it?"

The vicious girl laughed and carried on playing while Hope left the game to get some first aid.

At the first aid tent Hope waited impatiently for the first aider who was new this year and when she saw the man he looked very familiar to her..

"Oh, you must be Mikaelson. The girl who's in the same tent with my daughter."

"Ohh that's why you looked so familiar. You're the twin's dad."

"Exactly, you can call me Dr. Saltzman. So what happend out there?"

"Nothing, just the usual. I'm pretty sure that girl hates me for hanging out with your daughter though."

"Josie? Why would she hate you?"

The man gently cleaned Hope's wound with pure antiseptic and Hope clenched her teeth. Then he places a bandaid over it and wrapped it around her arm.

"I guess she sees me as competition? She fancies your daughter." Hope laughed.

"Oh! Wow the things teenagers go through. Josie is quite the rational one she will make the right choice when it comes to it."

"Don't worry I'll keep an eye out for your little pumpkin."

The man laughed and then noded his head towards the door.

"Off you go, Mikaelson. Back to your game."
