23. Control issues

"What on earth are you doing, Hope?" Sebastian said with an evil smirk and tried to push back against her hand.

"You heard her. She said no. So clearly she doesn't want you touching her." Hope said with an authoritative tone.

"Hope-- you don't have to do this I can handle him I swear please go..."

"Who are you to decide what Elizabeth wants?"

Hope turned and looked at the blonde's eyes, she still looked like she uncomfortable but didn't want to hurt Sebastian's feelings by overreacting and she could sense that the girl needed to get out of there.

"Remember what I told you about red flags?"

Hope grabbed Lizzie by her arm and dragged her away unwillingly and back to the camp. She reached up in her ear and whispered before releasing her.

"I might have accidentally heard your whole conversation. And before you come at me hear me out. Sebastian is manipulative and his intentions are far from pure. I don't wanna think about what would happen if I wasn't there."

"That doesn't give you the right to do whatever you want, Hope! You have a tendency to control everything around you including other people's business and that's why everyone hates you."

Josie who was sitting nearby with MG overheard Lizzie shouting at Hope and immediately shoot herself across to them to find out what the commotion was about.

"What's..what's going on?" Josie asked feeling puzzled.

"Hope. Don't say a word. I'm begining you." Lizzie commanded.

"You can't tell me what to do. I'm the controlling one, remember?" Hope turned to Josie and crossed her arms over her chest.

"I just found Sebastian throwing himself at your sister and I stopped him because she clearly didn't like it. My gut's also telling me this guy is not the right fit for your sister."

"That's for me to decide." Josie said with a pout over her face.

"Great! Everyone thinks they know what's best for me. Does Lizzie get a say in that? Of course not!"

The angry blonde walked off seemingly upset and Josie was about to run after her when Hope's hand stopped her.

"Let's give her some space, Josie."

"She's been through enough, I don't want my sister to suffer anymore Hope. We were supposed to come here to have a fun and relaxing summer away from drama. Or else her mental health is going to suffer and that's not good for neither of us."

"I hope you know I did this for her own good. Also, I'm keeping my eyes on Sebastian. Something about him seems really off."

"I know that and I trust you. But obviously she doesn't see it that way because she's head over heels for him."

"You worry about her and Sebastian, and let me worry about getting Lizzie to trust me yeah?"

"You don't have to do this alone. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help." Josie offered Hope a sweet smile that quite literally melt her heart.

"Thanks, I'll let you know if anything comes up. And Josie?"

"Yeah?"

"I know it's probably not my place to say this but be careful tonight with Penelope..."

Hope lowered her eyes on the ground and Josie could sense something was troubling her. Maybe their kiss earlier that day actually meant something to her, but in no way would she ever admit it so it was like fighting a lost cause.
