*Third Person POV*

Brynleigh looked excitedly out of the window. She couldn’t wait to get to where she was going. Her and her boyfriend, Cyrus, didn’t usually agree on date ideas. Sure, it’s super cute being with someone the polar opposite to you…until you guys have to make decisions together. Then it’s not so fun. Cyrus was always down for the planetarium or going to some obscure couples spot that was a 1950’s themed diner near the end of Junuea. The second option was kinda cute. It could be like the movies where the couple pops some money into the music machine, whatever it’s called, and dance up the isles. Get an ice cream shake with two straws. Brynleigh had seen couples in there doing that when there were people there, and the staff really didn’t mind whatsoever. Now that sounded like a great date, but Cyrus had an annoying tendency to just chat with the workers the entire time. Apparently, he was pretty close to them because back when he really didn’t have any friends, he would go there after school to get a small snack and read.
Whereas Brynleigh always wanted to go somewhere like bowling or the arcade or the mall or some place akin. Both because Brynleigh loved competition and because she loved showing off her relationship. She was prideful in every aspect of the word, and being prideful of being with Cyrus was none less. Cyrus was slightly bashful being in those big places with his girlfriend, with her being so popular, both online and in real life. But Brynleigh was all to content with the attention and Cyrus’s blush.
This made it a jumbled mess when they tried to come up with date ideas. The past few times, they had just stayed at home and watched a couple of movies with snacks. Which was great and all, but it also left either the Anders family breathing down their necks or Brynleigh’s dad breathing down their necks. Neither was fun.
But they had finally come up with an idea for what to do for a date. Middle of winter in Alaska, what does that sound perfect for? Ice skating. Cyrus had past experience because he and his family used to go every winter before everything happened. Brynleigh had never been ice skating before, but she was sure it would come just as natural to her as everything else. Why wouldn’t it?
Oh, and Brynleigh was just imagining it as she sat in the car holding Cyrus’s hand. They would both have light blushes across their faces because of the cold and because of each other. Cyrus would have a light dusting of snow in his hair since he hadn’t had time to grab a hat before they left. They would laugh and dance on the ice, both clumsily trying to stay upright. Once they got tired, they would sit down next to the frozen lake to cuddle up and talk while they waited a short while for Magnus to pick them up.
That last part still surprised Brynleigh. For the last couple of months, Magnus had insisted on driving her and Cyrus around places. And not once did he try to kill them. Maybe he felt like he owed them. Or maybe he wanted to annoy Adam or Bruce, Brynleigh would never get used to calling him that. But he always wanted to drive them around to get on their good sides and get to know them. But with Magnus constantly high jacking and driving them instead, it didn’t make it easy for him to do that. So it was probably the latter reason.
That didn’t matter, though, because here she was with Cyrus all dressed in warm stylish clothing, on her way to have the perfect date on a secluded lake that Brynleigh had discovered when she was young. Cyrus looked over at her smiling, happy that she was sharing a spot only she knew about with him. She was honored to be the reason for such happiness.
Magnus stopped at the side of the road near the forest while they got their skates and got out. Cyrus said the usual thanks that he always when Magnus, or anyone, drove them. Magnus made sure to ask if this was really where they wanted to stop. Having grown up in WhittierCorp, he knew he didn’t know much about being an average teenager and the dating game, but a date in a creepy dark forest didn’t sound ideal. Brynleigh assured him that she had grown up in this forest and knew it like the back of her hand. They would be perfectly fine. Magnus agreed and said he would come back in two and a half hours to pick them up.
Cyrus watched Magnus drive off, then turned to follow Brynleigh into the forest. It really was dark and creepy. If Brynleigh hadn’t been holding his hand to lead him, he might have suggested they just walk the long walk back to the house and watch another movie. But he wanted to see this frozen lake that Brynleigh spoke so fondly of. He felt quite touched that she trusted him enough to tell him, let alone show him. So he simply squeezed Brynleigh’s hand and continued to follow.
After twenty-five minutes of walking, they reached the beautiful frozen lake. It was everything that Brynleigh had described and more. The trees had crystal-like frost hanging from the branches, the lake reflected light into the area, and the snow curled onto them as they were no longer protected by the tall trees from the falling snow while in this amazing hidden clearing. It was like a breath of fresh air in the suffocating darkness of the rest of the forest. Cyrus could see why Brynleigh loved this place.
The pair got on their skates and set out on the ice. They try their absolute hardest not to fall over, leaning on each other and lightheartedly making jabs at the other’s horrible balance.  They laughed until they could not breathe and tried to dance on the ice, which ended up with both of them laying on their ice, giggling as the pain of their falls set in. But they always got back up to try again. After a while, Cyrus pulled out his phone to play songs on so that they could get the full experience he had said. Brynleigh insisted on playing ‘Lover’ by Taylor Swift multiple times, and Cyrus subsequently played ‘Voy A Creer’ from one of a telenovela called ‘Go! Vive A Tu Manera’ many times over. He said it fit Brynleigh. Brynleigh yelled the words of ‘Lover’ into the forest.
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home
    You're my, my, my, my
    Lover.
Cyrus softly sang ‘Voy A Creer’ as he spun with Brynleigh on the ice.
Tú,
Que sabes el valor que tiene la palabra amar,
Que dices todo lo que sientes,
    Sin callar,
    Como lo hace el mar.
Brynleigh would later google what this meant, and although she knew that it wouldn’t be exact, getting the overall idea of what he was singing moved her, and she loved him even more.

(Idea from, drumroll please, 2amandrain13. You requested an ice skating cyleigh date, and I fulfill. Sorry this took me so long. I don't know whether I love or hate this. The fluff is suffocating me.)

(Also for anyone who wants to know the lyrics that Cyrus sings they are
You,
Who knows the value of the word love,
Who says everything she feels,
Without shutting up,
As the sea does.
It's not a perfect translation, but you get the idea. I feel like it fits how Cyrus feels about Brynleigh.)
