Eyeliner Is So Hard To Do

(Just a warning, this is a self-indulgent fluffy dumpster fire of some of my favorite lesbians.)

*Third Person POV*

Merica excitedly sat down on the bed while Holiday grabbed all of the supplies that they would need. She was so beyond eager for whatever her girlfriend had planned for her. Even though she had no idea how it would turn out, she still wanted to see what she would come up with.

After a very long time, two minutes, actually, of begging, she finally gave in to doing her makeup. Holiday definitely wasn’t a professional in makeup like Brynleigh was, per say, but she could still make really good and creative looks when she wanted to. Just this past weekend, she had wanted to.

The two of them had had a date planned to spend some time in her room to just hang out, Holiday had shown up with a complicated eye design in mind. She was so excited to do it on her!

Holiday had drawn inspiration from Merica’s room. She definitely knew how to do interior decorating. Her girlfriend was an amazing artist and wanted to make a career out of it someday. But for now, she just settled on hanging her artwork all around her bedroom. Hundreds of pieces from doodles to full-scale pieces were hung along the walls and some even on the ceiling. Almost all of them were black and white, usually centered around some type of animal, especially fantasy ones. Dragons, foxes, rabbits, wolves, butterflies, fairies, unicorns, and everything else.

But her art wasn’t the only thing there. She also had a plethora of printed out photos. There was a lot of her family and Holiday, and also plenty of her other friends like Cyrus. Some were from her phone with little filters on them, and some were from other cameras and such all about the space.

There was also a little corner that held tons of pink stuff, aka stuff that Holiday had left there. Pastel origami that she had given the girl, which all contained sweet notes. A sweatshirt or two that she hadn’t actually left there, Merica had stolen them, and she knew there were others. A white fluffy blanket and a million other things all stuffed on a beanbag. Merica had even put a sticky note on the wall above it that read ‘Holiday’s shit that she refuses to take back to her own damn house’.

The whole room had a kind of dark vibe, all black and white and red, but that one beanbag held a mountain of color and looked slightly out of place. She guessed that was how they looked together.

Holiday forced her attention over to her girlfriend, who was still sitting on the bed, eagerly waiting for Holiday to sit with her and begin on the artwork. She smiled and got into a comfortable position where she could at least somewhat reach the other girl’s face to make her design come to life.

She knew what she wanted to do. The idea was to make it mostly a design to fit Merica’s aesthetic while also adding in fun elements from her side of the relationship. She thought it was a good idea that was also pretty cute. She just hoped that her girlfriend thought the same as she did.

The concept was maybe a bit overreaching for Holiday’s skill level, but she would at least try. The base and everything were actually very simple. Just a normal glam: foundation, contour, eyebrows, blush, liquid lipstick (dark red liquid lipstick), powder, and everything else that was usually included.

The point where it got extremely difficult was at the eyeliner. The main part of the makeup look was really supposed to draw your eyes to it and make you stare. That was what she was going for.

She planned to do a copy of one of Merica's drawings on her eyelids, and it would extend around her temples, too. It was a very detailed and complex piece of a dragon with its wings all spread out and breathing fire. It had taken Merica many hours because of how intricate it was. She had wanted every little detail to be perfect. She took it very seriously, working on it whenever she could.

Holiday had always loved just silently watching her girlfriend make art, but especially that piece had been nice to see made because it showed her dedication when she set her mind to it. That was nice.

There was one little detail she was changing about it, though. Instead of the dragon furiously breathing fire, it would instead have her little origami notes flowing from its mouth in an upwards and downwards motion, somewhat reminiscent of a geyser she supposed Just in a way.

She knew that it wouldn’t be nearly as good and that she wouldn’t be able to put everything from the original drawing into the eyeliner look simply because it was a much smaller space to fit something so extravagant. But she tried her best and she hoped her best would be good enough.

She would admit that there was another reason for some of the details being a little wonky, and that was her girlfriend. Surprisingly, though, it wasn’t just her staring at the blonde girl in awe of her beauty nor both of their incessant fidgeting habits. But rather, it was Merica’s continues cycle of asking Holiday every five seconds ‘Are you done yet?’. Holiday knew that she didn’t actually care how long it took.

Neither of them had anywhere to be or anything to do, and they had planned to spend most of the day together either way. The other girl probably also didn’t mind having to sit there for an hour or two because at least they were sitting there together. No, Holiday knew it was just her girlfriend’s idea of being funny and annoying her. She hated to admit that she had to hold back a laugh.

Finally, after two hours, Holiday sighed. She didn’t think it was good enough for her amazing and gorgeous girlfriend, but she supposed that she could settle for it. It was too late to start over now either way. She lifted up the mirror to show Merica and waited for the reaction to her work.

“Holy shit, this is fucking amazing.” Her girlfriend said while she dabbed her fingers on her face and brought the mirror closer to her face to see all the details.

“You think?” Holiday asked.

“I know.” Merica said, now leaning in, and Holiday leaned in too.

(I just wanted to get something out before starting my next official story, and I figured that Merica/Holiday deserved some time to shine.

Also, for their ship name. I originally called them BlondeNews, but I've seen some people say Meriday. What do you guys think?

Hope you enjoyed! Bye!)
