90'S AU!!???!?!?!?!

Did I hear someone ask for a prequel 90's AU of when James, Monica, and all the other adult characters were younger???? NO???? I don't give a fuck. I'm making one.

Headcanons:

- When I tell you that James wore the chunkiest huge ass sunglasses known to man. I mean it. Those bitches took up half his face and he really strolled around the neighborhoods thinks he was the coolest cat there. (He was not, in fact, the coolest cat there).

- ALSO!!!!! MONICA HAD AN AMATURE RAPPING CAREER!!!! UH HUH YOU HEARD IT HERE!!!!!

- Her rap name was 'Thriple M" because her full name, in my mind, is Monica Moreno Medina. So, it was a reference to her intials.

- Doc Whittier was never not sick. It was a miracle if he came into work without a cough. It was kinda unhygenic.

- James lives in old band tees. I will fight people on this matter. I will lose said fight, but I will fight.

- Angelica has a string of pearls that she wears everyday because it was her grandmothers, who passed away a few years prior to this story.

- This is set in 1999, specifically, by the way.

- James is 20. Monica is 19. Angelica is 42. Doc Whittier is 49. Grayling is 32.

- James and Monica go to college at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

- Monica is getting a degree is science (obvouisly). I haven't decided what type yet though. James is getting a degree is engineering before going into the military.

- Monica is working at WhittierCorp as an intern.

- Part of Monica and Angelica's long standing beef with each other is that on Monica's first day at WhittierCorp she took Angelica's lunch and that old lady has stayed mad.

- Monica looks normal and presentable at work and college, but the second she's out of there??? The rapper persona takes ahold of her being. She had a large fake gold chain necklace that she keeps in her back pack and puts on the very MILISECOND she's out of those buildings.

- Angelica is African-American. Doc Whittier is African-American. James is half African-American and half Domincan-American. Monica is Argentinian. Grayling is German-American and Dutch-American.

- Monica was born and raised in Argentina and then moved to the US.

- Doc Whitter was actually really nice to Monica and kinda treated her like a work daughter.

- Personality wise: James is the fucking snarkiest little bitch. Resting bitch face. Most people genuinly HATE him when they first meet him. He thinks he's funny, but most people just think he's an asshole. AND WHEN HES HANGRY!??!!?!!? The world is already ending the second that mans stomach grumbles. He's a bit nicer to the people he's close to, but it's mostly just the usual snark replaced with loving sarcasm and the occasional cry session in the rain. The only time he's genuinly nice and fun and giggly is when he's drunk. He's a year older than Monica, but she's ten years more mature than him.

- Monica doesn't want to talk to you. Why are you apporaching her? Just like James, PEOPLE HATER. Two differences though. James hates on people to appear funny, Monica does it because she genuinly doesn't like being around too many people/people she's not close with. She's pretty shy and reserved. She'll just do her work and be out of your way. She's still super polite though, almost too polite. She'll hang around if she likes you though, or if she needs to for work/school or something. Not funny in the slightest. Don't tell her she is, it boosts her ego too much and we've already heard ENOUGH chicken jokes for a lifetime.

- Angelica is professional, purely. She has a customer service type smile, but always. She hates when people steal her lunch and muches on ice cubes while she works. (Same). She's a bit manipulative, but not as much as when she's older. She's pretty genuinly caring. Sure, she has some serouis beef with Monica and she's defintly not sitting down for afternoon gossip sessions with the younger woman, but she'll looks out for her. She'll glare at her all day, but if someone was making Monica uncomfortable during work? Angelica would make sure that person would be fired within the hour.

- Doc Whittier is pretty nice. He's a bit of an ambivert. Now, if I'm correct on the timeline, then his daughter (Adalaide, I believe) has already died at this point. He hasn't gone completely crazy with his grief yet, though, like we saw in the original podcast show. He's definitely still grieving, though, and that affects his everyday interactions in a, mostly, negative way.

- Grayling...I don't know yet. I'll come up with a personality for him later. Lol.

Done with the headcanons...for now, at least...

I don't know if the personalities had too much autism projected onto them...😭😭😭

I'll definitely keep working on this. It's really fun!

I did write all of this at 2 am...so don't mind that. Let me know if anything didn't make sense, though!
