Holiday - Sippy Cup

An explanation as to why I gave Holiday 'Sippy Cup' by Melanie Martinez.

Chorus:

I imagine the chorus as Holiday talking to or thinking about Adam when he was still really Adam and not Bruce. It's mentioned a lot that Bruce was not made with the ability for empathy, but Holiday was. I think Holiday would consistently look at him or listen to him and just think,'How do you not understand that this is wrong?' She would probably just list in her head things that she wished he could understand that he couldn't.

Verse 1:

Throughout the show Monica and James are very comforting parents who honestly tell a lot of lies to try and protect their kids. Which works for Birdy and Badger, but not the older kids like Holiday. Holiday was always annoyed when anyone kept anything from her because there was always a high possibility it was connected to her or her past. She saw through the lies pretty easily and was never happy.

Pre-Chorus 1:

Holiday was just a bit paranoid when it came to people knowing her families screts. For example, the bathroom situation in season one after Casey was revealed to be Flashcard.

Verse 2:
Pill diet / Pill diet / I f they give a new pill then you will buy it / If they say to kill yourself then you will try it / All the makeup in the world won't make you less insecure

Holiday was very much ready to do quite a bit in order to get the answers she wanted in the show. She really worked hard to hone her powers and abilities and figure them out. I think this shows how dedicated she is once she sets her mind on something.

You got weights in your pockets when you go to the doctors / Your favorite candy's cotton / That's why all your teeth are rotten / Silly girls with silly boys

Holiday had a lot of questions that she wanted and needed answered that either didn't get answered or only got answered with tons of work on her part. Hence the 'weights in your pockets'. Also I imagine that she loves sweets.
