*Third Person POV*
Brynleigh Pasternack was unsure, for once in her life. Her boyfriend had called her this morning asking if she was free that night, to which she had responded yes. He told her that he had a date planned and that it was going to be a surprise. It wasn’t like she had planned all of their previous dates, but she at least always knew what they were doing.
She searched through her closet, trying to find the best thing to wear. When she texted for a follow-up of what she should wear, he had only replied ‘comfy’. What was comfy!? Was comfy going to the movies in loose jeans and a crewneck? Was comfy baking a cake in leggings and a tank top? Was comfy trying to make out and then getting caught by Magnus and getting an hour long lecture from him about how they were too young to be doing that stuff. He was only two years older than them, but that had still been embarrassing.
Brynleigh checked the clock to see that she had to leave soon, so she decided to save the clothing for later. She quickly did some light makeup and curled only a bit of hair. She figured that no matter where they went, that would be okay.
Before she could get back to her closet, she got a message from Cyrus. It was a picture of him smiling through his curls and in…pajamas. He sent it with ‘In case you were worried about what to wear ❤ ️’. Brynleigh internally thanked the fact that her boyfriend knew so much about her.
She began searching through her pajamas. She looked over at the white two set that she had foolishly worn when she had three am ramen cravings and spilled all over herself. She then thought back to the photo where Cyrus had been wearing a deer onesie that she had bought for them one time. So she spent five minutes digging through the drawer until she came across her matching one, which she quickly slipped into.

Brynleigh was starting to second guess her choice to wear the pajamas to the Anders house rather than changing there because when Birdy opened up the door for her, she immediately burst into laughter. She crossed her arms as the younger girl almost fell on the floor, making her wonder just how ridiculous she looked on the doorstep in nothing but a deer onesie. She definitely should’ve just changed at his house, but there was no going back in time now.
After a good couple of minutes of Birdy’s nonstop giggles, she stepped aside to finally let Brynleigh into the house. She looked around to see the bustling chaos that was usually the Anders house. James was trying to clean while Monica put away leftovers from dinner and offered some to Brynleigh. Holiday was in the living room watching a YouTube tutorial on how to close a door, blasting on full volume of course, and Birdy was making sure that everyone knew the drama that was happening at school while she was on the phone. Ah, how Brynleigh loved this place.
She turned on her heel and looked towards the stair. She began to climb them up to her boyfriend's room. She was trying to be quiet so that she could surprise him, but with all the background noise in the house, she doubted that she really had to try hard. Still, she creeped up to the door and put her ear to it. Making sure that he didn’t know she was there, she swung the door open quickly and prepared to jump onto him, but he wasn’t in there.
She thought that until she felt someone’s hands creeping around her waist and spin her around in the air a bit. She feigned shock when she saw the one and only Cyrus Anders standing in front of her with a stupid little grin on his face. He leaned down to smother kisses all over her face as she laughed and returned them.
Brynleigh pulled away for a second when she heard the sound of a phone camera going off and looked over Cyrus’s back to see Birdy running away while snickering. Usually, she would have chased after her, but right then, she just wanted some time alone with Cyrus. Besides, the younger girl seemed to have created a habit of popping up and taking pictures of the two of them whenever she thought something they did was ‘cute’. Which was a lot.
Cyrus just shook his head with a chuckle and led her to the bed. They laid down together with Cyrus on Brynleighs chest, listening to her heartbeat, and both their arms and legs tangled around each other. She wasn’t sure what exactly he had planned for the date night or if they were just gonna hold each other the whole time, but either way, she wasn’t complaining.
She felt his hands reach to her head as he began to play around with her hair. Lazily braiding and unbraiding with no end. She found it quite relaxing when he did this. He always loved playing around with her long hair. They both snickered when he accidently threw a small section near her mouth, causing her to splutter for a couple of seconds.
A little while after getting into bed, Cyrus stood up to grab something. When she tried to ask what it was, he told her that she would just have to wait. He told her to close her eyes while he worked on getting it ready for a minute. So, Brynleigh sat on the bed with her eyes tightly clenched shut as she excitedly buzzed in anticipation.
Eventually, Cyrus told her to open her eyes, and right there was Cyrus’s phone. But on the phone was the confirmation information that he had purchased two VIP Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets!
Brynleigh threw her arms around her boyfriend as she tried to process the surprise and overall shock from the news. She was so beyond happy that she wouldn’t even let go of Cyrus. Cyrus went on his phone again and pulled up a Taylor Swift playlist with which he and Brynleigh began dancing and singing their hearts out, too. Also soon joined by Birdy, who had no idea why they were so happy but was glad to be in the atmosphere.
