A more in-depth explanation as to why I gave Casey 'DOLLHOUSE' by Melanie Martinez.

Verse 1:

I feel that growing up at WhittierCorp, all of the Whitkids were really good at hiding things. Everyone was constantly terrified of the adults or officials finding out about any of the stuff that they did that they weren't supposed to do. But occasionaly a kid would bring back something illiegal or otherwise banned that was fun (i.e maybe achohol or even just stuffed toys or board games since they likely weren't allowed to have those) and they would be like royalty there for a good amount of time.

Pre-Chorus:

Okay, imagine that a Whitkid is sent on a mission. The mission is pretty standard, get in get out, nothing big or special. But while on this mission, the kid tries to get help. The kid tells a local or two about what happens at WhittierCorp, but WhittierCorp ChildCatchers get to the kid first before anything can be done. This kid is never seen again. None of the other kids, no what happened to them. But Angelica suspicously mentioned on announcements the next few days that there are consequences to breaking WhittierCorps' valuable trust.

It's canonical in the show that when the interviewer came to Casey's 'house,' WhittierCorp sent people to pretend to be her family. Which would seem normal for a Whitkid, but seriously. Imagine being sent to a random house you've never been in before and having people probably never met before, or if you do know them, you've been taught to fear them. Then you're just expected to pretend that they're your family and that you've lived with them your whole life. That's kinda how this section feels.

Post-Chorus:

So, in the show, we know that Cyrus looked up to WhittierCorp big time. But imagine that from Casey's perspective. Casey, who knows the horrors of WhittierCorp, had to listen to the guy that she liked constantly raving about the place that had given her immense trauma and not be able to say anything. I also think this might be part of why Magnus doesn't like Cyrus. Yes, he probably doesn't like Cyrus cause he doesn't really like anyone, but I think Casey would tell Magnus about Cyrus and her feelings for him and how he talks like that. So, it might be a contributing factor to the dislike. Cause I know Magnus was bad, but you can't tell me he wasn't super protective of the other Whitkids or that he wasn't like an older brother to many of them.

Going back to the point that I made earlier about the Whitkids being terrified of the officials at WhittierCorp. These kids probably were made to watch press confernces or social gatherings for WhittierCorp, and I think the entire time they would just be clenching their hands at the amount of lies that were being spouted there. But none of them would ever speak up because they didn't want to end up in the nursery or worse.
