Six minutes shit

A random hc that I have about Cyrus is that after the end of season two, he tried to change everything about himself. Right now, I'm specifically talking about his body.

- One time, he had a nightmare and woke up terrified, but he didn't want to bother anyone in the house. He knew he needed to change something, so he took the kitchen scissors and started hacking at his hair. Eventually, he got tired and fell asleep in the bathroom. James found him like that and was scared for him but still told him that he would take him to a professional because the haircut looked really bad. James still cleaned it up a bit before they went because Cyrus was too embarrassed to go out like that. For context, I imagine season one and two Cyrus with fairly long hair. But he got it cut so that it faded up the neck and was just overall a lot shorter. He didn't do a buzzcut or anything. He wanted to keep his curls, but it's still very different.

- He was really happy when he started getting taller because that was another thing that was different about him. Also, with his face changing a bit, just maturing, you know, there were some people that didn't even recognize him, and sure, that made him a bit sad. But it also made him happy because people started seeing him as Cyrus again rather than them just remembering him for having been forced to go on the run.

- He started to go to the gym, so he started getting some muscle. Personally, I don't think he would get crazy buff or anything, but he definitely has some noticeable strength. He was also really happy about that because it made him feel more secure. Like he wasn't that defenseless little boy that was easy to take advantage of anymore. Now, he could defend himself if he wanted to, and that meant a lot to him.

- One time when Brynleigh did his makeup, she used one of those foundations that literally covered anything and everything. She even showed him on his hand how it covers Sharpie. He asked if he could take some, and she agreed because she thought it looked cakey on her. But she was surprised when she never saw him wear until one day when they were on a date she felt it on his arm and realized he was using it to cover his scars and stuff.

- A kid at his school said that everyone should try to do art at least once in their life, so he decided he would seriously try drawing. It was just a pencil drawing, but he couldn't figure out what to do. He just started sketching a face and decided to do a self-portrait. But that just devolved into drawing himself with only the small amount of things he liked about himself and then trying to make it look 'perfect'. Then he looked in the mirror and back at the drawing, then to the mirror and back to the drawing, and so on and so forth. He just sat there wondering why he didn't look at the drawing and hating himself.
