I just realized I never gave an introduction to Teal and how she met Jungwon and about her group, so this chapter will be shifted as the official first chapter. I'm writing this story because I'm interested in the characters and everything.

"Kim Chayoung."

The moment I heard my name as the first debutant of the group, I had burst into tears. It was the best minute of my life. The first member to be selected for the new girl's group of YG Entertainment. It was an honour in itself to clear the audition, but to finally made it in the team? That was a dream come true.

But after the haze disappeared and the other three members were announced, the happiness turned into a never ending sadness. My friend with whom I had trained for so long, Chua, stood in the corner. She wasn't selected for the debute team. The happiness I felt diminished until it was no longer there. Chua didn't complain, just congratulated me and others, and wished us well before leaving the training area.

Midnight Blues was supposed to be a four members group, just like our seniors Blackpink. Those four members were completed. The hunt for the leader begin afterwards, and my friends were so sure that despite my young age, I would be selected as the leader of Midnight Blues. Not to brag, but even I was sure of it.

"Like a fever, fever, fever~~" I was singing, jamming to the latest release of Enhypen when the manager came to inform us of the immediate meeting the management was holding.

Olive gave me a grin. "Leader," she mouthed. Since the official process of making a debute was starting, it really was a matter of time for the management to announce the member who would lead the team. Other two members, Hai and Nari also gave me a wink. Everyone was so comfortable with me having that role, it made me feel nice. At least someone wanted me.

The moment we entered the meeting hall though, the air shifted around us. Uncertainty. That's what everyone felt when we see one of the Trainees sitting there with the manager. Not just any girl, but the ex SM Trainee who had joined YG an year back. I had heard a lot of her talent, and how she was good, like really good in every way possible, but when she wasn't selected for the debute team, I just assumed that YG wanted the company trained trainees in the group. Not someone who had just joined.

"Hello." Ae-Cha stood up from her seat. She was wearing a face mask but I could see the shyness and awkwardness in the way she bowed to us in greeting. My Mind went on an overdrive.

If Ae-Cha was joining the group, which one of us would be dropped? YG had been so certain to debute 4 members group, that they let go off Chua, the best Trainee that had. I was scared. A lot. We took our seats, and the meeting started. Turned out, Ae-Cha was joining us as the fifth member of 'Midnight Blues'.

I won't lie, I felt a little jealous and angry. Not at her, but that my friend was dropped for keeping the group as four, but now they changed the rule according to their convience. It wasn't the only announcement though. Ji Ae-Cha was announced as the group leader of Midnight Blues. It boggled my mind. The girl didn't even trained with us. How was she going to connect and lead us after debute?

Ae-Cha talked to us after the meeting. I smiled and tried my best not to be a bitch about it. It wasn't her fault. Company gave role to each of us according to their experience. I had to trust their instinct. After training till 4 in the morning, with the whole group (it was not as weird with us five), I packed to leave the training area. I was in dire need of some sleep.
