I never had a luck with friendships.
I mean I had my group members, but outside that I didn't have friends. I and Ara grew up together, most of the times in the same premises, yet I won't call her my friend. She would do the same. I won't say I didn't care about her because I did. Knowing someone for years makes you naturally care for them I guess, but sharing feelings and being vulnerable? With Song Ara? Hell no.
Ayame, known as Chua in the training period couldn't make it to the final line-up, and even though we shared a good relationship, she drifted away intentionally. I didn't have to guess. I must've reminded her of her unfulfilled dreams. What hurt the most was she changed her number and never bothered to keep the contact. I thought I would see her debuting in some other group, but it felt like she disappeared from the planet itself. Eventually I stopped looking and respected her wish of anonymity.
Then Eun-Ae came into my life. Sometimes it hurt when I thought of her. I really thought I got good friendship in her. We used to get so excited during the award shows season because it meant I would get to see her. The only thing that ripped us apart was her group name. TRINE. Miyoung was there, and I knew I would have done something bad if I had stayed in touch with Eun-Ae. Miyoung was an unavoidable topic in our friendship, so this time I distanced myself.
I wondered if she still had a crush on Jungwon. I hoped not. During our friendship, she had admiration for him and she found him attractive. I mean who wouldn't, but it would make me sick if I found Eun-Ae still having liking for the guy I had feelings for.
I came to Enhypen dorms today to meet the members. Jungwon invited me. Midnight Blues was busy, right, but it would look suspicious if I stopped visiting all of the sudden. So I came and Sunoo opened the door.
"Chayoung." He sighed deeply. "Will it be too hypocrite to ask you to stop?" I entered the living room as he shut the door behind me. "Seriously you and Jungwon are worse than me. At least I'm moving on-"
"Oh Hi Bora." I smiled and Sunoo at once turned to see the emptiness of the room. "Even her name made you want to take one look, and you're moving on. Right." I rolled my eyes.
"Don't play me like that," Sunoo grumbled. "She and Sunghoon hyung are out on a date. Things are going well between them. I think Bora has started to like him."
"And, you're okay with it? Her liking him?"
He threw himself on the couch as I took my seat. "I and Bora were friends before... everything. I know what's best for her. Sunghoon hyung will keep her happy. I just know, and she's seeing that too."
I wanted to point out that wasn't the answer to my question but seeing him lost in his thoughts made me pause. Okay. No interference in the matter. I heard voices coming from the kitchen and got up to see what the rush was about. Niki was standing by the counter with a plate in his hand. Ara was cooking for him, and he looked excited about it.
