I was a smart ass.

At least people thought so. I did too. Sometimes. The truth was that I could be the dumbest person on this earth on certain occasions. Like really really stupid. The weird thing was these situations always involved a certain someone. It was getting frustrating.

Yang Jungwon was unpredictable.

I thought he was going to tell Ae-Cha everything, about our kiss. Don't blame me, he came to see my leader on our Japan tour because Enhypen was visiting Niki Sunbae home. It might look like an innocent act. To visit his friend, but I got paranoid. The moment I came to know he was coming to the hotel, I grew anxious. It had been weeks since the kiss. We never talked about it, but I didn't trust him not to blurt out our secret to humiliate me.

I loved Ae-Cha. More than I could ever tell her. People shipped her with Rubi for their leader-oldest dynamics, but my group leader was my soul mate. Maybe because I trusted and related to her so much. Apart from my family thing, I have never lied or hid something from her. It felt like a sin for her to know about kiss from anyone else other than me.

"It's okay. I'll tell her everything before Jungwon." I took a deep breath and didn't bother knocking. I opened the door. "Jungwon Sunbae is going to come anytime now, so before he says something, I need to tell you-"

Her eyes widened. My heart dropped. Did she already know about the kiss, but she didn't confront me? Was she mad at me? Did she hide her resentment and disappointment? Gosh, I had to confess. She opened her mouth to tell me whatever lies my Sunbae told her, but I wasn't having any of it. "Chayoung, he is-"

"I kissed him. We kissed. Jungwon Sunbae and I." I shook my head. "I don't know what he has told you but-" I realised she wasn't listening to me, her focus went to the corner of the room. I turned my head, and felt stuck in my spot. "Fuck."

Ae-Cha's head moved like a tennis ball. Back and forth between me and Jungwon who was sitting on a chair in the corner of the room. He looked ready to murder me. Well, I was ready to die because his eyes clearly told me that I had fucked up. Jungwon, just like me, didn't want Ae-Cha to know about the kiss. Bloody hell. He should have told me.

"I was joking," I tried to salvage the scene. Laughing awkwardly, I went on. "You became a fool, unnie. So easily. Hahaha." Nobody laughed. My smile dropped and I anxiously shifted my weight from one foot to other.

Ae-Cha cleared her throat. "I'll leave you both to talk. I think you guys need it." She climbed down the bed, glancing at both of us. "You guys are adults. I don't have any say in this. So, don't worry about me. Alright?" She looked at me. I nodded. Then she turned to Jungwon. "Wonnie, it's okay. Both of you don't have to explain anything to me. Just talk. Okay?"

Jungwon nodded finally. Ae-Cha left the room. I took a deep breath to relax but my heart jumped when the door shut behind me quietly. "I thought you would tell her. That's why you came here, no?"

"Miyoung asked me to visit Ae-Cha." His quiet voice replied.

My blood ran cold at her name. That fucking bitch. "Why? So that she could spy on how deep of a damage she has done to my friend? Honestly why are you still talking to that mother fucking-" I looked away, my eyes tearing up. "Ae-Cha never cries in front of us. Your dearest Miyoung made her cry. She broke her down, and had the audacity to ask you to visit her?"

Yesterday after the tour, I knew something was wrong the moment Ae-Cha stepped into the hotel room. She had come back after meeting Miyoung. Of course she didn't tell us the reason of her final breakdown but then we drank. I went to put her to sleep when she mumbled about her ugly exchange with Miyoung. Long story short, that fucking bitch really messed up Ae-Cha by telling her things that my group leader was the most insecure about.

"You don't know Miyoung-"

I went to him, standing toe to toe. "I don't want to. I have enough of your love sick feelings. Can't you wake up and see what's in front of you? She doesn't deserve you or Ae-Cha."

Jungwon looked away. He was unexpectedly quiet tonight. He wasn't fighting. It felt like showing emotions were too much work for him. "They fought because.... Miyoung is dating Soobin hyung now."

Ice settled in my stomach. No offence to bunny guy, but I didn't give two shits about him or the ugly bitch he was dating, I only cared about Ae-Cha and... Jungwon. He was like this, drained exhausted person because of heartbreak. "Does Ae-Cha know you seeked her company tonight because you're going through a heartbreak?"

A bitter smile covered his features. "No. Not everyone is a detective like you. People take my feelings for Miyoung as friendship." Running a hand through his hair, he sighed. "I didn't have any plans on telling Ae-Cha about the other night. I just wanted some company. My members know about Miyoung and it was hard to be around them because they were keeping an eye on me."

"They are concerned about you," I said. "It's natural."

"I'm supposed to take care of them. Not to put burden of my emotional nonsense." Jungwon shrugged. "What's done has been done. I'll leave now. Good bye." He side stepped me.

I held his hand. "Listen-"

"I'm not in mood Chayoung. I really am not." He was staring at the ground.

I intertwined my fingers through his and went on my top toes to kiss his lips. His eyes widened for a fraction of seconds. I leaned back to stare at him. "She doesn't deserve you," I whispered. His one hand held my waist, and I stared into his heated gaze.

"What are you trying to do, Chayoung?"
