In A Relationship With Enhypen Jungwon [Completed]

2 | I Met Him Again

First half of 2023

I was wrong about two things.

First, I thought Ae-Cha, now known as Midnight Blues leader Violet, would be the most popular aka loved member of the group. She wasn't. She was popular but hated. Like really hated. If I could summon up her status, it was people would even criticise her for breathing. It was that bad. Plus, her addition to Midnight Blues met with a loads of criticism and speculations.

Our five members group Midnight Blues was based on the colors. Ae-Cha as Violet. Me as Teal. Misuk aka Olive went with her same English name. Hai went with Lavender. Nari went with her english name as well: Ruby. We debuted in the second half of 2022.

Ae-Cha was a cousin sister of a very popular actress, Ji Sunhee. So the first doubt arised from the comment that she got preferencial treatment because of her sister. Which was false because YG was anything but kind or easy when it came to debuting process. It was brutal, and people really had to be blind to not see how good Ae-Cha was at being an idol.

I tried to help her in my own way, by defending her in one of the talk shows went after the DEBUTE. "Violet unnie did come as a surprise for us, but I can't really imagine our group without her. She grounds us, and I think she's the best leader we could ever have." I tried to be as casual as possible because giving this statement didn't mean it would get to be seen by the public.

Every move of ours was scrutinized by the company and the public. No word would telecast until YG gave them permission. Editors job really was one hell of misery. Which was why my help turned into a shit storm. I really had to praise the fans to make it look like I was shading Ae-Cha instead of helping her. Videos went viral. Articles were highlighted, and her reputation tanked more when the rumour of her having an affair with the YG higher up took rounds.

Second, I was wrong to think that I could be friends with Jungwon. When I got a job as the MC at the inkigayo, I was so excited to meet all of my favorite idols. I mean no matter what I still was a kid who would see the celebrities for the first time. It was embarrassing to confess but I even screamed into my pillow when I first time met TXT. Especially Yeonjun Sunbae. He was just so cool.

My co-mc was Haruki from SM's new boy group. We were having Enhypen finally with us for the comeback stage, and I tried to calm myself down at the prospect of seeing Jungwon again. Our meeting happened in a very awkward situation that I felt like it was a dream when I reached home. I still couldn't believe that I had met him.

I tried to meet Jungwon's eyes when Enhypen entered our view. He was going through his script. There was no way he didn't know that I was here as an MC. Still he didn't look up. Okay. Maybe he was too much into script reading. My smile flattered. I tried to read the script again and again, but failed. I frowned. The camera started rolling.

"Smile." A voice muttered beside me. I looked up at Jungwon, but he had a blank face on. In a matter of nano second I register that the camera was rolling, and looked around, over him, so that people would think I was checking the staff. Not Jungwon.

"Teal, today, we've a group which gives fever to the fans and make them drunk dazed in the hollows of music and dance." Haruki, my co-mc started.

"Ahn, even I've heard of this group. Shall we pass the mic, and let them introduce themselves?" I smiled brightly and parted with Haruki as Enhypen members came into focus. I focused on the card in my hands so I won't look at Jungwon much.

The interview went on. I asked Jungwon and Sunghoon Sunbae questions and rest was handled by Haruki. We even did a step with Enhypen. I was called the sunshine of Midnight Blues, and I actually had adapted this image. The sunshine. The cheerful member of the group who was unapologetically killer on stage, but a fluff ball behind the scenes. Even I didn't know who I was anymore. Maybe pretending to be a certain someone came with a side effect of losing yourself.
