"Okay. We're set."

I adjusted in my seat. We were shooting for a documentary based on our journey. Midnight Blues. From our debute to fifth-sixth year. I was supposed to talk about my group in this one part. My eyes moved over the photo albums and a smile covered my face. It felt like suddenly being hit by nostalgia.

"Ah. I can't believe we've completed five years." I looked at the camera. "To be honest, I wasn't a very good dancer or singer when I first joined YG. I was just good at pretending. Sometimes it feels like they selected me for my fake confidence." I chuckled, going down the memory lane. "It was surreal to get into the training system."

"I don't remember it but Olive saw me in the audition and she still says I looked like a possessed person who wanted to get in, no matter what. I mean I was pretty determined. Since I had officially moved to South Korea, it wasn't very tough to get over the culture difference because my dad is like very much connected to his korean roots."

"Good." The director gave me a thumbs up. "We'll now move on to your stories related to members. How you met them and connected, like your reactions and all. We'll record once again when you guys are together. Okay?"

I nodded, sipped water and squared my shoulders. "Members. It's a very interesting story. It was Ruby unnie who approached me first. She said 'ah you're here since morning. Come on, let's eat.' I remember thinking of her as an angel because I was really hungry that day. I was kind of punishing myself for not doing well in the evaluation. Ruby unnie is the senior one of the group, and I'm very glad we're together. She's always taking care of us, me and Olive especially as she thinks we're her kids or something."

"If I talk about Lavender unnie... I think there's something really really magical about her. She's smart, funny and very talented. I used to watch her from afar, and kind of like developed a crush on her." I laughed, remembering my teenage self going gaga over Lavender's moves. "I approached her first and gave her orange juice bottle. A lot of people liked Lavender unnie because of her easy going personality. And, she's a flawless dancer and I really love her."

"Ae-Cha aka Violet unnie. I'll be honest I felt the most competitive with her. She created so much hype when she came to YG, and I was like.. ah I need to do better than her. I had seen her perform, and yeah it kind of lowered my confidence because at the end of the day, we all wanted a position in the group." I stared into a space, frowning. I wanted to put my words properly for my leader.

"I think I was like that because Ae-Cha is a no nonsense person. She literally gave no thought to comparison or anything. It was like she's doing her thing. I didn't meet her during trainee period because people were always fawning around, so it was like a fan sign event where you can't get a ticket." I shook my head. "If you ask me now, I'll say I'm very close her. We don't have to say things. It's like she knows what's in my mind, and I really admire her as my leader, group member and sister."
