Here was the thing.

We planned it. The scandal. The dispatch was supposed to release it. Everything was supposed to cause a ruckus in the country at the new year. We were 1st January 2028 couple, but... But things went south unexpectedly because photos released by the star news weren't staged. They were real. For dispatch, I and Jungwon knew we were being followed but not for the other one.

It was like a slap on our faces. Someone knew about our relationship and yet kept it a secret until now. Those photos were taken closely, meaning that person was harmless to us, but who would do that? How did we fall into this drama? YG Entertainment was my home. Had been my home for years now, but the way everyone was looking at me, I knew I was in trouble.

"You were dating him way before we decided this." The higher up shook his head. "Chayoung, are you fucking dumb! How are we supposed to release the breakup news now that these photos are online!"

Yeah. Those were his exact words. I had to sit through three hours of lecture, and how I had ruined things for my group members. My phone was confiscated for the time being and I was asked to visit the disciplinary section to get some sense of the drama I had created.

I was getting scolded left and right. From the managers. From the higher ups. From the co-workers. From the staff.

Only my group members were supporting me at the moment. Ae-Cha sat through all the meetings with me, and shared the burden. She didn't even know that I was having something with Jungwon, but still, she stayed. Olive cooked my favorite meal after the 12 hours of torture. Lavender held my hand when I broke down into tears in front of Ruby.

"He wants to talk." Ae-Cha gave me her phone two weeks later and I sat up immediately. "It's going to be alright. I promise." She kissed the top of my head and walked out of the room.

I placed the phone over my ear, and waited. "Chayoung.... I'm so so sorry," he whispered.

"No. I'm sorry." I clutched the device tightly in my hand. "I forced you to come out on all those dates-I mean outings. How are you? Are you okay? I hope I didn't cause much trouble for you? Please tell me-"

"I'm okay. I'm fine." He sighed. "Since you don't have your phone, I'll warn you to not trust the articles. The company is sabotaging the comments. Fans are supportive of us. It's just they're trying to make it look like they're not, and... and I want you to know that everything is okay. We'll be fine. "

I blinked back my tears. "Jungwon... I saw one of the news on TV. You cried. The group anniversary was supposed to be a beautiful day for you, but you cried-"

"I cried because my fans made sure to show their support to me." Jungwon sighed. "We're both going to appear for the award show, so..."

"I'm warned to keep myself in check," I murmured. "I can't see you."

"Jungwon." Somebody must've called him because he cut the call immediately. It made me realize that even his company had put some restrictions on his activities. Fuck them all. The whole night went in the anxiety and stress for the upcoming hell.

All cameras would be on us. Shit.

"White?" Olive frowned when she saw my dress for the show. I had the similar reaction to this when I was handed this piece of clothing. "Gosh, they really are trying to get people talking."

We made our way to the venue. My heart was beating fast and throughout the journey, I kept taking calming breaths. It was going to be alright. It had to be. When we got to the red carpet, Ae-Cha nodded in my way. I took measured steps and reached the stage for the photo session. Camera shutters startled me a bit and I tried, I really tried to be the smiley cheerful Teal fans had come to know, but I couldn't.
