Chapter 14- When luck is not on your side

Rayleigh's POV

My mind went blank as I stared at Vanessa, speechless.

Vanessa looks at me with an amused expression and was about to say something. But suddenly her expression fell when she saw Psyche who went to my side. She snorted and decided not to say anything.

"Mrs. Vanessa! Are you okay?" her colleague ran towards her.

"Yeah I'm fine so don't touch me you idiot!" she said rudely, smacking his hand.

From what I know about Vanessa's character, she seems innocent and cool at first glance, but acts like a mean fashion diva when approached by someone. Her attitude is a bit like Regina George from Mean Girls, which was the movie I saw two years ago.

I just stayed silent and walked away from her.

"Huh?...Hey! Where are you going? I'm not done with you yet!" Vanessa pouted and ran after me. I cringed when she playfully touched my shoulders.

My body tenses as she continues to touch me as we walk. I tried to pull away from her, but she was so insistent, it made it very difficult for me to distance myself from her.

Sara, a girl who was expelled from three different schools, and how

"Why are you so quiet? Are you mute? Come on, talk." says Vanessa.

"Miss, I think you should stop." Psyche interrupted. Vanessa looked at him with disdain, but the blonde didn't seem to notice.

"And why this?" she gave a fake pout.

"He looks really uncomfortable." Psyche scratches her cheek awkwardly.

Luckily, Vanessa was called by her teacher, telling her to join the next game. She was annoyed by this, but decided to put on a fake smile and told the teacher that she was on her way.

"I hope we meet again." Vanessa says in a very low voice that only I could hear.

She gives a creepy smile before heading back to her class.

I stood there and watched her mingle with the others. Psyche watches Vanessa silently and looks at me.

"You know, you should at least learn to communicate with people. If you always act like that, they'll misunderstand you." Psyche tells me.

I looked at him in confusion.

-What the hell is he talking about? I thought. The reason I don't talk to you guys much is because you guys are dangerous.

As Psyche sees that I'm really not going to say anything, he heaved a sigh, looking at me with a telling expression as if I had no hope.

I don't really know what he meant earlier, but that's not what I should be thinking right now. I've already met Vanessa and I have a feeling that bad things could happen to me in the future.

I must do things that would make Vanessa lose interest in me.

___________

When the sports festival was finally over, as I was about to go home, I saw a man with black hair, petting my pet white rabbit.

I recognized the man. It's Alexander. I wonder why he's here. Whatever your business here, I think I should leave you alone. I'm going to go back inside the school and wait a few minutes, then come back here to get the rabbit as soon as he comes out.

I silently turned around, but stepped on a stick. It broke and caused a sound. That made Alexander turn his attention away from the rabbit and look in my direction. His brown eyes look into my gray ones.

"Is this your bunny?" he said.

I looked at him silently and nodded.

"To think that the supposedly cruel person would have a rabbit for a pet." he looks at me in disbelief but he gives me the rabbit anyway.

"So... That day when we were taking our math test... What did you do with our teacher?" he narrows his eyes at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Don't make a fool of yourself. You did something to her. When you two got back to the classroom, I saw a sad look in Ms. Mylene's eyes. Did you threaten her?" Alexander looks at me somberly.

I tried to analyze what the hell he's talking about. Once I processed it all, I realized what he meant. He was talking about the day I stole my paper from Mrs. Mylene. When she chased me through the empty hallways until we reached the backyard and discovered that I got a perfect score on her math test. Alexander and the others must have been suspicious because of my strange actions that day. They didn't know about my perfect grade, but they assumed I threatened our teacher into giving me a passing grade.

I sighed.

Alexander clenched his fists when he saw me sigh. He thinks I'm sighing because I'm admitting that I really did threaten Mrs.

Mylene, which I honestly didn't.

"It's not what you think." I said.

"Ah? Based on your actions back then, what's not to think about?" Alexander spat.

Oh man, he's already holding a grudge against me. Better do something to slow it down a bit.

"I didn't threaten her to give me a passing grade. Here, take a look if you don't believe me." I said as I took my paper out of my pocket.

Mrs. Mylene promised to give me zero marks, but she returned my work because she feels unfair if she marks all my correct answers as wrong.

"I just insisted that she not check my paper and just mark my grade zero. You too were sitting in the front row like me, of course you overheard some of our conversations before Mrs. Mylene ran after me out of the classroom. classroom." I told him as I showed my paper in front of him.

I'm not worried that Alexander might find that my answers in this article are all correct. I know very well that Alexander can excel at many things, but math is one of his weaknesses. He kind of sucks at math. Too many numbers are really not your forte.

Alexander sees that I am telling the truth. He could see the proof in her eyes. He knows this is the same paper I passed to Mrs. Mylene that day. Alexander has a great photographic memory, it's a cool skill anyone could have.

Alexander just remained silent. His expression tells me he's confused by many things. Looks like he also has a lot questions.

My carriage has already arrived and I waste no time getting inside. I carried the rabbit in my arms, leaving Alexander alone.

The next day, I was just having a leisurely lunch, enjoying what delicious food I could eat.

But suddenly, two figures sat at the same table with me. I looked at the two men in front of me in utter disbelief.

One was enough to cause a lot of stress... How much more if there were two!?

"You know, Graham... I don't know why you've been following me around these last few days, but..."

Why the hell is he here?"

I looked at them, not hiding a twitch coming from my lips. Alexander doesn't speak and just looks at me with a playful smile on his face. Psyche, on the other hand, was elegantly eating her food.

I get chills as Alexander keeps his gaze in my direction. It makes me uncomfortable, I can no longer enjoy my meal. The way he keeps smiling at me is so scary.

Oh boy, what the hell did I do that it all ended up like this...

I looked over at Alexander, who still doesn't take his eyes off me. I don't know why, but seeing his amused smile scares me..

"Oh, he's my friend. We've known each other for three days, and we seem to get along well." Psyche tells me.

Seriously, these two are inseparable.

I know these two will be friends in the soap opera... in such a short time, they are already friends!?
