Chapter 11 Misfortune Fits Me Perfectly

Rayleigh's POV

"And what was close?"

I winced when I heard a voice behind me. I looked at the female figure behind me, I see her make a strange expression. It didn't take me a second to recognize who she is.

Reddish blonde hair, brown eyes, tanned skin and freckles on her face...

Gwen...

The description of the novel exactly matches its characteristics.

Gwenn Dandelion, the most talented dancer at this academy. She is admired by many people. The boys even swooned over her cute and adorable face.

'Why the hell do I keep bumping into people I want to avoid!?' I swore under my breath.

"Mr. Rayleigh Greyhound, why are you out here when classes are over?"

starting?" She narrows her eyes at me.

Obviously, she already knows me and my bad reputation. I could even see how wary she is of me. I just stood there and looked at her in silence.

"Well, I'm just late, but I'm on my way to class." I told her.

She looks at me unusually, but I don't know why.

It was a moment of awkward silence, until I saw Alexander behind her. I could see he was still a few feet away from us. I almost flinch at his aura, he looks at me like I'm prey he needs to catch. Before Alexander could approach us, I ran ahead.

When Alexander saw me running, he broke into high gear to catch up. I internally screamed in panic when I saw him approaching me. I see him about to grab me, so by reflex I fall to the ground and dodge him. When I saw him stagger forward, I immediately got up off the ground and ran in the opposite direction:

Unfortunately for me, he managed to keep his balance immediately and continue to chase me. This time he was able to grab me.

"Good try." he stares at me.

________

All the way to the classroom, Alexander carried me on his shoulder until we finally reached our destination, he finally puts me down when we are already in front of the door.

Alexander just looked at me, waiting for me to open the door, but I just stood there, not wanting to do that. When the brunette sees that I really have no intention of going in, he sighs and opens the door. He puts me in front of him, preventing me from escaping again. He lightly pushes me into the classroom and I'm met with stares from everyone inside.

"Rayleigh and Alexander, you're late." Mrs. Mylene crosses both arms and shakes her head.

"Sorry. I got held up on my way." Alexander apologized and

looks at me as he says that statement.

He and Mrs. Mylene stared at me, waiting for my apology.

"Uh...I got held back too." I managed to say it in a cold tone. I looked at them poker-faced, waiting for them to say something.

"Can you explain why you were absent yesterday?" Mrs. Mylene asks.

I stood there for a second, thinking about how I should respond. Should I argue that I was sick? Family problems? No, that would be a little weird for Rayleigh's character.

"It's none of your business." I answered.

Mrs.'s eyebrows Mylene frowned.

All my classmates looked at me.
