Chapter 33 - Who are you?

Rayleigh's POV

As we searched for the bombs, I kept telling Lucas that we should just report this to the warden. But he told me that wouldn't be a good idea as we don't have proof. Officials will not act until there is valid evidence.

I was surprised, I hadn't really thought of that. Nobody will believe us right away, they will have to investigate the situation first. But before long, Mason is planning to burn this place down.

It wouldn't take any longer.

Because bombs are timed. There is a countdown. We only have 40 minutes.

I think Lucas is right. This is a big school. Firstly, it takes about 10-15 minutes to reach the principal's office. (If you think I don't, that's where you're wrong.) So we only have 25 minutes left.

The school is a twelfth-story building. Each area on each floor is three times the size of a mall. I think 25 minutes won't be enough. Whether you believe us or not, I'm pretty sure we're still screwed in the end.

Yes, there is no way to evacuate all students for just 25 minutes. In addition

Besides, the human stampede makes it worse.

Well, I think they'll make it if they jump off the building. But they'll be dead if they do, so... yeah. But Alexander should have known about the fire incident, right?

In the novel, he was able to find out about the bombs when he heard the conversation of Rayleigh and Vanessa's subordinates. The same will happen to Mason?

"Let's try checking the student lounge. Mason could have planted the bombs there." I told Lucas.

"Really? Then let's split up." he said.

"What?" I looked at him.

"It'll be a lot faster if we look for the bombs separately. You'll check the student lounge and the other areas. Then I'll check the library and the other rooms." he tells me.

My eyes widen a little. Those were the same lines he said in the original novel. But I don't know who he said that to. Wait, I remember now. He said these lines to Alexander. He was with Alexander when they were trying to defuse the bombs.

I remember now, it wasn't just Alexander and Lucas. Psyche was also there. Those three wore disguises because they didn't want to be recognized by enemies. They couldn't report to the director because they didn't have proof. So they had to do the deed on their own. When they managed to stop the fire from happening, the director wanted to reward them. But she didn't know the identities of these heroes. So she decided to display the medals with her nicknames written below. It was the only way the Headmistress could show her gratitude.

The principal thought that those three are not students of this school. She assumed that they are strangers who knew about the incident and decided to bravely save the school. The medals were displayed in the school where everyone could see.

But, unfortunately, the three prodigies of this school were expelled.

Alexander and the others thought they were the ones who did it. They told the director that those three were also accomplices of
Rayleigh.

I remember that Alexander's nickname was Mikel. Psyche was called like Chris. And Lucas was called... what was his pseudonym again? Was it Larry? Garry?... or Barry?

When Lucas was about to leave, I stopped him.

"Wait." I said.

"What?" He looked at me.
