Chapter 23 - This Time, I'm the One Who Pursues

Rayleigh's POV

Psyche and I ran through the halls trying to look for Gwenn. We must have lost her, I'm sure she didn't go that far.

"Greyhound, how about we split up to go look for her?" Psyche suggested.

I looked at the blonde and scowled. I knew it shouldn't have been so careless.

"Okay, I guess it would be easier that way." I said.

"Okay, you go that way and I'll go that way." The blonde says, pointing in the direction.

I just nodded silently in agreement with his suggestion. We both split up to go find her.

First, I looked around the library. Then I went to the cafeteria. So I went to the roof and went to every classroom just to look for her. But she is nowhere to be found. Where the hell did she go?

While looking, I decided to go to the garden in case I found her there. But unfortunately, I didn't. My face fell in disappointment and fear began to creep over me. Even now I keep praying in my head that she hasn't told anyone yet. Just this once, make me lucky.

As I was very tired from running, I decided to slow down and walk through the halls. I went to a large window, trying to locate Gwenn, thinking I might just stumble across her. Unfortunately, I didn't.

Giving up hope, I decided to sit by the window, letting out a desperate sigh. My thoughts are now filled with worries. When I feel myself drowning in these thoughts, I slapped both my cheeks.

It's okay, there's no time to worry about the problem. It won't take me anywhere. It's better to focus on the solution.

I got up and tried to think.

Now that I come to think of it, there's a certain place I haven't checked yet. It was the college building, it's quite far from the school building and very hard to find if you just walk there. Most high school students use carriages whenever they go to the college building just to visit their brothers or sisters or even cousins.

This school is incredibly big. It's even bigger than I ever imagined in the novel. I've been here for weeks, but I haven't dared wander around the school campus too much, I'm afraid I'll get lost and meet some people who are just as bad as old Rayleigh.

But now, I think I have no choice but to go to that building. Unfortunately for me, there are no carriages at the moment. So I guess I'll walk my way there. I left the school building and climbed a very tall tree to locate the college building, because the view from inside the school building is not it was clear. When I reached the top, I finally saw the building. I gave a smile, very proud of my achievement. So after that, decided to go down. As I was somehow close to the ground, a cat

I fell out of the tree, suddenly colliding with something. I actually expected it to become a painful landing, but how does it not? I touched something below me, it's soft and warm. I looked down to see a red haired guy underneath me.

I immediately froze. I honestly want to dissolve right now into thin air...

I can not believe this....

I swallowed hard when I saw Lucas looking at me with that scary face of his. I immediately tried to get up. But I was pulled back to him. As I looked down, trying to figure out why I couldn't get up, I noticed that our necklaces were tangled up.
