Rayleigh's POV

I still remained uneasy. It's possible that Vanessa will kill them today. No, it is highly possible.

What should I do? I don't know when she's going to kill Hideo's family. Who knows if she's on her way now!? And if they are being attacked?

Many worried thoughts crossed my mind. My conscience is really killing me. Because of so much paranoia, it was hard to catch my breath.

When we got back to a safe place where there are a lot of people I grabbed Hideo's arm, trying to get his attention.

"Hm? Mr. Greyhound, what's wrong?" the mage asked. I sweat a little, looking at him uneasily. "Look, I know this is going to sound weird... Where is your family now? Can you tell me say?" I asked.

Hideo arched an eyebrow, he looked at me curiously home, why?" he says.

"They

"Here? In Kureiryon?" I asked again.

"Umm, yes. After all, I live here." he laughed a little. I swallowed hard. Oh boy, are they still alive? No, no, seriously, I should stop thinking like that. There is still hope.

This is not the time for negative thoughts. Assumptions later, rescue for now!

I tightened my grip on Hideo's arm, dragging him hard to run with me. Hideo was surprised, but he decided to run with me. "Hey, what's wrong? Why are we running?" he asked.

I was silent for a while. I wondered if I should tell him or not. If I have to think about it, he deserves to know. After all, it's his family. We need to work together. No matter what happens, your family cannot die. I can't let chaos happen.

"Look. What I'm going to tell you, don't ask anything and do as I say. Got it?" I looked at him carefully. Hideo gulped at my serious face. For some reason, he got scared and just nodded.

I took a deep breath. As I was able to build the words into a sentence, I told him, "I have a feeling your family is in danger."

Hideo's eyes widened. Before he could say anything, I cut him off, "I really can't tell you much. But believe me, I'm sure they're in danger."

"How the hell are they in danger?" Hideo asked. It seems like he believes me, but is suspecting me at the same time. "If that's the case, why are you going to such lengths to help me?"

I sighed. That was expected. "Let's just say I'm doing this for the benefit of everyone's lives." I tell him. It's the truth though. "And…as a human being, I don't want to leave any regrets. I know what it's like to lose a family, so I won't let you suffer the same fate." I have added.

Hideo was quiet.

Memories about my previous family flashed through my mind. Most of the time, my heart aches with pain whenever I remember them. Sometimes I wonder why I'm trying so hard to survive even though I've already lost everything. But I remember the words my family used to say to me: It's all about valuing my life and stuff.
