Chapter 36-Meeting the Heroine (2)

Rayleigh's POV

My fear finally came true. I expected, but not so soon! I wasn't supposed to meet her now, I was supposed to meet her next week. What the hell is she doing here?

"Are you... are you a student at Tai Brixten Academy?" the heroine

He asked.

I freeze

Well, I'm in my disguise, so I guess it would be good to say whatever thing.

"Umm, I'm a student sitting down. Yesterday was my last day." I told her, conforming to the lie Lucas told Alexander yesterday...

"What?!" she exclaimed in shock.

I faltered. Wh-what? Did I said something wrong?

"There's no way you can just be a student sitting around! With that level, that's impossible!" she says.

"What do you mean?..." I asked.

"With that level of singing, you are one hundred percent qualified to be a student there!" she says. "If yesterday was your last day, why are you going to the gym!?" she points to the school that is meters away from us.

I started to sweat. Oh boy, this is bad. What should I say to her?

"Well, I'm visiting a friend. I made a friend during my days at that academy. And I promised that person that I'll always visit.often." I lied.

The heroine looks at me for a while. Then later on she starts to believe me.

"I see…" she nodded. She looks at me with seriousness in her expression.

It made me feel a little nervous because I can't know what she is thinking.

Your character is exactly like in the novel. She always has this calm, poker-faced expression. People always assume she's not friendly, that's their first impression of her. They also think she is unapproachable. But once you start talking to her, she's quite bubbly and friendly.

But she also has this character that judges people by hearsay, mostly by reputation. Unlike most heroines I've read about in other novels, Maria isn't the type of person who doesn't judge a person by their reputation. She doesn't bother meeting them because she doesn't want to get involved. But it depends on the situation, I mean.

I'm really glad I'm wearing a disguise now because she doesn't like people who have useless personalities. Especially those types of people who bully others.

If she finds out I'm Rayleigh Greyhound, I could be one of her suspect lists if something bad happens in the future. Well, as a reader, I know that these bad things will happen because she is the heroine of this story. As soon as she walks into the gym, I hope I don't bump into her. The less she knows about my appearance, the better.

"What is your name?" she asks.

Eh? Is she asking my name? Why?

"No way, that's scary. People have taught me that it's dangerous to give your name to strangers." I said, rejecting her immediately.

I know she means no harm, for now. But I don't want her to dig up more information. Knowing her character, she has this kind of ability that is a bit similar to a detective. It would be dangerous if I was exposed, I'd better not leave any clues.

"My name is Maria Florianne Velare. I'm a violin prodigy. I'll be at the gym next week." she introduced herself. What the hell is up with this girl? Didn't she hear what I just said?
