Chapter 34 - I Will Remember Your Name
Rayleigh's POV
I break out in a sweat when Alexander points his sword at me. Talk about the wrong time. How the hell am I supposed to explain this to him? Seeing that he's wearing a disguise must mean he already knew about Mason's plan. So does that mean Psyche is with him too?
Based on what happened before, he probably thought I was one of the people who planted those bombs. How many misunderstandings do I have to cause!?
"I'll ask again, who are you?" Alexander glares at me.
I swallowed hard.
Oh boy. Knowing him, he mostly cuts his enemies in half. I definitely don't want that to happen to me because I value my life. How the hell am I going to explain this to him? I'm not very good with words. Since I was little, I was never good at explaining things.
I let out a silent sigh. I looked at Alexander who was now looking at me. Judging by this situation, one wrong word, I'm screwed.
"Hey. Don't ignore me. Answer my question!" he threatened.
When Alexander approaches, his eyes widen. He didn't say anything, and just continued to stare at me. I looked at him, wondering why he was acting so strange all of a sudden. When he almost lowers his sword, he snaps out of his thoughts and points his sword at me again.
"Are you one of his accomplices?" he asked, being cautious again
Hmm? Is he asking if I'm helping Mason? Wait, so that must mean he's already heard about your plan. As expected, the flow of the story is still the same. The only difference was how the characters meet. Especially about Mason playing the part instead of me. The exchange of roles was also a differential.
"No, wait. I could explain. It's not what you think." I said, raising both my hands.
"Oh? So could you explain about the explosion earlier?" alexander narrow your eyes.
"Yes of course." I said, calmly lowering my arms. So I started to explain the situation to Alexander. "You're not the only one who knew about Mason's plan." I tell him.
Alexander looks at me. "Do you know Mason? You are a student of this school?" he asked
"Yes." I answered. So I continued to explain. "Lucas was
distrustful of their actions. So we tried to investigate him." I said. "Lucas? Is he with you?" Alexander asked, lifting both his eyebrows.
When I was about to answer her question, I suddenly stopped. I remember Lucas told me that we should keep our identities secret. No matter who it is, we mustn't tell anyone. Well, I guess it's okay to tell Alexander. Since they were originally the only ones who worked together and stopped the bombs from going off. But Lucas might get mad if he finds out, so I better not tell Alexander or else I'll sleep with the fish.
"No, he's not. We both split up. He ordered us to look for the bombs and defuse them. Based on what you saw earlier, I dropped the bomb in a secluded spot rather than defuse it." I smile nervously.
"Hah? Why didn't you disarm him?" he asked.
"Because I don't know how to defuse a bomb. I tried to cut the wire, and the countdown immediately went to zero. I panicked and dropped the bomb in an isolated place," I explained.
"What an idiot. You don't know how to defuse a bomb? Do you consider yourself a knight?" he looked at me in disbelief.
"I'm not a knight. I'm just a student at this school, nothing special. I just got dragged into this mess, that's all. There are students who will die if nobody stops the bombs, so I had no choice but to to help." I explained.
